Wood types and finishes for solid wood sectional doors

Northern spruce

Nordic Pine is a light-colored softwood with a predominance of straight grain. The hollow areas of the core, resin passages, oblique and yellow-brown "knots" are completely natural.

Hemlock

Hemlock Fir is a whitish gray to light gray brownish coniferous wood with a predominantly straight grain pattern interspersed with brown mineral fibers and streaks along the grain direction.

Matt finish

Both types of wood can be ordered with a matt finish. Double-skinned sectional doors are recommended for garages adjoining the house. Along with LPU 42 with good thermal insulation LPU 67 Thermo have all the characteristics that modern building structures should have: high thermal insulation due to sections with thermal break [1] with a thermal insulation coefficient of 0.33 W/(m² K)*, very good sealing of the gaps between the sections with double lip seals [2 ] and an ideal double floor seal that also compensates for uneven floors and reduces energy losses

Effective thermal insulation

If the garage is part of the house, we always recommend well-insulated garage doors. Thanks to Hörmann's ThermoFrame track seal, the already good thermal insulation values ​​of the LPU door can be improved. The black plastic profile, which can be easily installed together with the gate rails, provides a thermal separation between the rail frame and the brick wall, thus improving the thermal insulation by 15%*. As an option, you can order the ThermoFrame seal for all Hörmann sectional doors.

Optimum protection for years to come

The 4 cm high anti-corrosion plastic base of the rails provides reliable door protection in conditions of prolonged dampness. Competitors do not have a similar system for protecting the base of the guides from corrosion.
Together with the door bottom seal, the track base creates a successful finish, also externally.

Duragrain surface finish for a beautiful, long lasting look

The new Duragrain surface with 24 decorative finishes is eye-catching and faithfully reproduces the natural structure and color of the door. The innovative digital printing [1] on the primer [2] of the galvanized section [3] and the final coat of high-strength protective lacquer [4] give the door a beautiful, long-lasting appearance. The trim panels of the boxes and the optional trim panels for leveling the lintels are supplied in a single color to match the decorative finish.

For an overall harmonious look, Hörmann offers sectional doors in which the distances between the individual cassettes [D] are exactly the same in height. The height of the sections is evenly distributed over the entire height of the door. Also, the horizontal distances between the cassettes in the section are kept uniform. This creates a harmonious appearance of the gate.

On request it is also possible to order side doors with an even distribution of sections with the same appearance as the garage sectional door.

Track and door leaf look the same

The harmonious look of the door is created by many small details: the compensating trim panel in the lintel area [1] is available for white doors and in all surface versions always has the same look as the door sections. At Hörmann, all components fit together. The side rails [2] are supplied as standard with White woodgrain surface finish. For sectional doors with Sandgrain, Silkgrain or Decograin finishes, track trims with door section finishes are available as an option. For doors with a Micrograin surface, the track cover is supplied with a smooth Silkgrain surface.

For sectional doors with colored coating and for doors with Decograin surface finish, a track cover [2] is also available, matching the surface, color and decoration of the door sections. The compensating fascia panel in the lintel area [1] of these doors always has the same surface, color and decorative finish as the door sections.

For LPU doors, the flush-mounted headlight compensating panel in the lintel area is an elegant solution with an invisible transition between the fascia and the door leaf.
When closing the gate, the top section is flush with the fascia.

Solutions for real conditions

For easy access to the garage, a wicket door without a threshold is recommended. So you can, without opening the garage door, roll out a bicycle or take garden tools.
The stainless steel threshold has a height of 10 mm in the middle and 5 mm at the edges. This makes rolling out easier and reduces the risk of tripping.

Significantly more safety

Hörmann automatic sectional doors leave uninvited guests no chance. When the garage door is closed, the anti-twist safety device automatically enters the stop of the guide rail, locks into place immediately and provides anti-twist protection.
