News This has never happened before, and here it is again! Shenzhen Yuejiang Technology Co. Ltd. offers a multifunctional modular Dobot Mooz CNC machine that performs the functions of a 3D printer, laser engraver and router. We tell what kind of animal it is and where we have already seen it.

Readers of our portal know the Dobot brand from the Dobot M1 universal robotic arms: at the end of 2016, the company launched a crowdfunding campaign and brought to market a manipulator with SCARA mechanics ( in the illustration below ), equipped with various nozzles. The new offer is already a CNC machine, but also provides versatility.

The story of Mooz is quite interesting, since last fall a South Korean startup of the same name entered the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform with an almost identical device, although equipped with less powerful laser and milling nozzles. Another twin appeared in the spring of 2017, but was offered by the California startup Snapmaker. It may very well be that it was Dobot who acted as an OEM supplier, and now decided to release the device under its own brand.

Be that as it may, the Dobot Mooz is built on an aircraft-grade aluminum chassis with industrial grade rails for high rigidity and 0. 02mm repeatability. The modular design allows the device to be assembled within ten minutes and quick replacement of working attachments.

Mooz is controlled from a 3.5-inch color LCD touch screen similar to smartphone screens. The intuitive interface is designed for inexperienced users. The diameter of the standard nozzle is 0.4 mm, the thickness of the layers varies between 50-300 microns.

The laser head is equipped with a 0.5 W emitter and is designed to work with wood, paper, some plastics, leather and other suitable materials. The milling attachment produces up to twelve thousand revolutions per minute and is designed to work with wood, plastics, printed circuit boards and other non-metallic materials.

Thanks to its modular design, the unit is available in a variety of configurations, including single and dual vertical rail options (Mooz-1z and Mooz-2z) and delta robot (Mooz-3z).
