Long wandering through the nooks and crannies with miniatures, I decided to print for myself the heroine, perhaps the most beloved anime, published "from the pen" by Hayao Miyazaki - Princess Mononoke.
In this miniature, I successfully tested the ability of Chitubox to make hollow models, which significantly reduced their weight and resin consumption, as a result, I was very pleased. nine0003
First of all, according to the classics, you need to look around the surroundings and determine for yourself the general scope of work:
Some elements of the miniature, as always, need to be improved so that the details fit together better and the overall look is pleasing to the eye.
Further, the painting proceeds according to the classics by layer-by-layer work, starting with painting the face and body, continuing with clothes and ending with accessories.
I apply picchi of face painting, on the rest of the body, arms, legs, the whole process is similar, but does not require such confusing precision in work as painting the face of a princess. nine0003
Next, we have an unloading painting, which is generally easier than painting a face, on which you can unload yourself a little.... what upset and all the thin layer toned purple from under which accents and transitions are clearly visible, but with the right shade. In general, it turned out even better than expected.
The next step is painting the mask, in general there are not so many nuances here, but somehow it took me about an hour and a half to paint the mask with a brush. The airbrush does not create much help in such a trifle ...
By the way, in the course of a lyrical digression, I can tell you that in painting I use the Japanese Anest Iwata Eclipse HP-CS airbrush.
The machine is not capricious, but requires some regular maintenance.
If anyone is thinking about buying, I highly recommend! I am not advertising this particular model or company, but the airbrush will greatly facilitate your life and open up new horizons in miniature painting.
The main working parts that need to be kept 100% clean are: needle, nozzle, air release mechanism. All this must be kept clean and tidy. For cleaning, I personally use alcohol, it amazingly corrodes acrylic. Assembly / disassembly and maintenance takes 3-4 minutes after completion of work. nine0003
Then I returned to painting the face again and added the missing elements of the image.
The next element that caused me a lot of stupor was the skin. Here I decided to start combing the wool, so that it does not look flat on the model. I can’t say that it turned out perfect, rather satisfactory, but it gave me new thoughts that in the future, perhaps, it is worth avoiding models with flat skins .... a joke, of course, but such elements require quite a lot of time to achieve an acceptable result.

As for the design of the diorama, everything remained prosaic, filling with an airbrush, watering, drybash, grass, bushes and voila. Maybe if I do something more grandiose in the field of dioramas, I will take a picture of this matter in detail.
Also, unfortunately, it was not possible to take a picture of the process of painting the spear and dagger, but I tried to create the NMM effect, without going too far out of the general style.

I'll tell you right away that I don't use color filters and other photo processing. All photos are taken exclusively in natural light, I think the temperature of the photo conveys the atmosphere of November standing outside the window.
Tried to maintain a balance between realism and atmosphere of anime, without going too far into the extremes of primitivism of collectible anime figures and some historical miniature.

Jerking off, sir? Jerk off the subject! I can offer as a muse a figurine of the Maiden of the Sword from the anime "Goblin Slayer". Fourteen centimeters high and one hundred and forty cubic centimeters of volume of the purest objectified boobs with a gilded plate without the addition of SJW impurities. And since I recently got my own photopolymer printer ("people's" Anycubic Photon S), for the first time in my sculpting lessons, they were also printed on a 3D printer. In a sense, this is a test print to test my theoretical knowledge of the technology in the field. nine0003
Initially, there was a request from the customer to add dishes to the heroine's hands and to make some changes to the costume. So, as you can see, the rags on it are far from all canonical.
But modeling and printing in the figure were not supposed at all. By the time I had the print, the maiden was already partly sculpted by hand. The pleasure of sculpting characters in complex costumes from a bunch of scraps is frankly below average. Usually the figurine cannot be properly put together before molding, because either the fasteners burst under their own weight of the polymer, or all the parts, when assembled without glue, fall back onto the table in heaps. nine0003
So, as soon as it became possible to print this figurine completely on the printer, it was decided to remodel everything from scratch in the editor and send manual work to the trash can.
The maiden was modeled in Zbrush. Since I'm not yet fully versed in the interface of the program, most of what you see here is the result of stubborn sculpting with the mouse of everything that is possible and even a little bit impossible. Only the apostle has been more or less simulated using physics in Blender. In the process of work, I especially remember the hair sculpture, when I bent the spheres into strands one by one for two evenings and folded my hair out of them, and then I remembered that the hair would all be under the headdress.
And somewhere around 80% of what has been done, no one will see ...
The figurine is printed from black Anikubik resin, assembled with stripping of all seams and hand-painted with a brush.
Since we did not have an agreement with the customer that the figurine should be unique, at first I had a crazy idea to send the model to stocks. But most likely I won't. Because it turned out that the assembly of the finished printed figure requires some effort. With my experience, I can assemble it without problems, but some neophyte layman who is having fun printing busty houris may face big problems. And this means that for greater friendliness to beginners, it would be necessary to cut it all in a new way for ease of assembly. But to fuck with the program, redoing the division of the whole woman, and then doing a new test print, and all this for the sake of 15-20 bucks...
