We combine a patent-pending anatomic footbed with lightweight materials to make sexy high heels comfortable. The way high heels are built has not changed in 70 years. To challenge this unhealthy status quo, we have teamed up with footwear producers, orthopedic scientists and podiatrists to create our footbed and shoes. Our footbed is currently available as a one-size-fits-all version, allowing us to service the mass market. Soon, we will cater to more complex feet with 3D-printed footbeds.

Voxelwerk GmbH
With voxelwerk, we have made it our business to offer services related to 3D printing . We pursue this goal with passion, a thirst for knowledge, precision and a lot of joy.
But what exactly does voxelwerk mean? Voxelwerk is made up of the two nouns “voxel” and “werk”. A “voxel” is a single point in three-dimensional space. It corresponds to a pixel in two-dimensional space. It is therefore the smallest unit in 3D printing – comparable to an atom or its components. A large number of these pixels together form a 3D object.
The term “work” expresses something that has arisen in many ways. A book can be just as much a work as a tool, an art object or the place itself where something is created. “Work” primarily describes something that is handcrafted, handmade and, in a broader sense, also unique. Taken together, both terms describe exactly what we do. With this in mind, we hope to be able to convince you of our ideas and our ability to implement them.

German scientists have developed a technology that can reduce the size of 3D printers to the size of a shoebox
What's going on
- A team of scientists from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the University of Heidelberg have developed a technology to create a compact 3D nanoprinter. The study was published in the scientific journal Nature Photonics.
- Based on an innovative laser printer head design for 3D printing with nanoscale precision. The researchers propose splitting the two-photon absorption process into two steps and doing them one at a time to reduce the size of the laser head that makes standard 3D printers so bulky.
- To implement this technology, researchers worked with chemists for several years to develop a new composition of photosensitive liquid.
- It is noted that two-stage absorption requires inexpensive and small blue laser diodes, which make the device affordable not only in size but also in price.
- According to experts, this development will democratize the technology of laser 3D printing.
What it means
3D printing technology, which became widespread commercially about a decade ago, has revolutionized many areas - it is currently being used for construction, printing human organs and tissues, and even creating designer clothes.
Despite the prevalence of 3D printers, most of them, especially those with nanoscale printing, are not available to ordinary users for home use. This is due to the size and cost of both the machine itself and the materials needed for printing, such as plastic or photopolymer. However, a new development by German researchers can radically change the situation - the commercial production of a compact 3D printer will allow anyone to get closer to modern technologies and use them for their own purposes.

PERI builds Germany's first 3D-printed apartment building
At the end of September, PERI announced the start of work on the construction of Germany's first 3D-printed apartment building in Beckum (North Rhine-Westphalia), and just two months later began works on the construction of a new residential building - a three-story building with a living area of about 380 sq. m. A COBOD BOD2 3D printer was installed on site to print the walls of the house. When the project is completed, the house will consist of five apartments, which will be rented out in the usual way, and only one will be used as a showroom.
The walls of an apartment building are currently printed with the BOD2 system in a volume of 12.5 x 20 x 7.5 meters. The speed of the printer can reach 100 cm/s, which is equivalent to printing or pouring 10 tons of concrete per hour. Once completed, the three-story building will be owned by local family-owned construction firm Michael Rupp Bauunternehmung GmbH and will be the largest 3D-printed residential building in Europe. The printing process is expected to take six weeks.
The customer for the project is Michael Rupp Bauunternehmung GmbH, which will specialize in 3D printing from 2021 through its newly established subsidiary Rupp Gebäudedruck. "Our family business has enjoyed 25 years of success in the industry and has many satisfied customers in the region. This means we have an edge in knowledge and experience when entering the 3D printing market for the construction industry," says Fabian Rupp, Managing Director director Rupp Gebäudedruck
“We are incredibly excited to start seeing the fruits of the many construction 3D printers we have sold,” commented Henrik Lund-Nielsen, founder and CEO of COBOD. “Real construction projects have been delayed due to the coronavirus, but now they're starting to show up. This new German project is really a big milestone, as the commercial nature of the building proves the competitiveness of 3D printing technology for three-story and multi-unit buildings. This, again, opens up completely new markets for our printers."
"We are very confident that 3D building printing will become increasingly important in certain market segments in the coming years and will have significant potential," said Thomas Imbacher, Director of Innovation and Marketing at PERI GmbH. - Printing the first apartment building in situ, we are demonstrating that this new technology can also be used to print large residential units.
