Here is our selection of the best STL lamp files, all these beautiful creations are from the 3D file library Cults and are perfectly 3D printable.
This collection includes free 3D files that will allow you to bring a design side to your interior. Lamp 3D modeling is a kind of obligatory passage for 3D designers. This central object in the decoration of a house offers indeed many possible variations and makes it possible to imagine creations which will be able to live in two states: extinguished and lit.
It is therefore possible to play with shapes and fillings to create shadow effects. For 3D printing of a lamp it can be complicated to have a 3D printer with a large enough printing plate. Also, some designers have even imagined creations of small size or in several parts.
What are the best projects?
3D printing for the home furnishing industry or home decor market
The additive manufacturing technology in this day and age has already demonstrated itself useful in many fields such as in the fashion industry and the automotive industry. It has proven itself as a qualitative and low-cost form of production process. 3D printing opens many doors and can be applied to many different objects and ideas. For example, let’s think of a lamp which in all its aspects can be designed in a million different ways and also be personalized by one’s own taste.
Prototype your heart out
A designer has complete creative control on how the lamp should look and feel like thanks to comprehensive 3D designing software. Once 3D printed, the designer can then again choose what kind of lightning to implement and how bright it should be. With complicated design comes great costs, no? Not for a 3D printer. Additive manufacturing allows complicated and personalized designs to be 3D printed quite inexpensively even when it ends up becoming prototype after prototype.
Production superiority
Additive manufacturing not only reduces labour costs due to the automated process, it also removes steps in the overall production process which reduces costs and time. Another smaller advantage but crucial for companies whose mission statement is to prevent a overall negative environmental impact is the fact that additive manufacturing results into a smaller footprint on the surroundings by cutting down the amount of steps in the production process.
Personalization option
Another great advantage of additive manufacturing is the option for each customer to personalize their item. In order to create personalized products without the use of additive manufacturing, customized molds or patterns would be required which costs a lot of money and results into high lead times. 3D printing requires no molds, patterns or other expensive tooling.
Home decor companies who are up to date with the advantages of 3D printing
Philips
Source: https://www.bright.nl/philips-eerste-3d-geprinte-hue-lampen Companies such as Philips have already implemented additive manufacturing into their production process. Philips uses 3D printing for their hyper modern Hue lamps and their matching lamp shades by outsourcing the process and design to WertelOberfell and Strand + Hvass. These designs, resembling hundreds of tiny twigs, are very complicated to produce when done so by making use of their regular production process

3Dlights.nl
Source: https://www.3dlights. nl/ Other companies who have already been using 3D printing in their production process are for example 3Dlights.nl. 3Dlights.nl is a Dutch company who uses 3D printing for their lamps because it is a sustainable business process. The company’s mission is to create sustainable products and to prevent creating a footprint on the environment by avoiding unnecessary waste of materials such as plastic. 3D printing prevents wasting materials by reusing unused materials.

How does additive manufacturing fit into the future for either the home decor industry or the home furnishing industry?
So far, only a few companies have integrated 3D printing into their production process for their business in the home decor or home furnishing industry. The biggest benefits are reduced labour costs, reduced process steps, a smaller footprint on the environment and not being limited in design. The future of home decor products will be affected by the demand from consumers for more personalization and customization options. Besides the consumer’s demand for customization, the overall expectation for companies in general is to become more and more aware of their environmental impact and to lessen it. Additive manufacturing is an option for companies to pay more attention to for this might be the answer for possible future market changes.

Voxeljet 3D sand printing for Lütgemeier
Automotive manufacturer Lütgemeier GmbH relies on Voxeljet's VX1000 printing system to produce metal sand molds faster and more economically. The technique allows you to save up to 60% of the time when creating complex and detailed components. The VX1000 industrial 3D printer accelerates the production of unique parts that are used in famous German race cars.
Design Features
Modern race cars or luxury cars with improved performance develop power up to 900 hp. and accelerate to 100 km/h in less than four seconds. Cars can achieve high performance only thanks to individual and carefully designed schemes and details under the hood. Original systems include specially adapted compressor housings, gearboxes, turbochargers, oil pumps and throttle bodies. Most spare parts are manufactured by a specialized German manufacturer Lütgemeier GmbH. The company has full control over the production chain, from the design of the part, through casting and subsequent processing, up to assembly and quality testing.
In order to guarantee customers short delivery times, Lütgemeier began looking for possibilities for automation. The solution came from Voxeljet, a manufacturer of industrial 3D printing systems.
A huge investment has been made in the VX1000 PDB (phenolic direct bonding) professional 3D object construction scheme. As a result, the company received equipment for 3D printing for industrial use. Designed and manufactured in Germany, the printer measures 2800x2400x2300 mm and weighs 3.5 tons. The device allows you to automate the production of blanks for sand casting. The user uploads the CAD file as well as digital mold design plans to the 3D printing system. The machine then lays down a layer of quartz sand only 300 microns thick on the building platform. The print head then selectively applies a phenolic resin binder. Attached to the fixture is a mobile infrared lamp that heats the build platform to speed up the curing of the fixing mass. At the next stage, the working surface is lowered by another 300 µm layer, and the process is repeated. The procedure is performed until the object is completely built.
After printing, the employee removes the finished forms and removes excess quartz sand with compressed air or a brush. Lütgemeier can directly carry out the complete post-processing of the components. Several 5-axis milling machines and measuring devices are available, as well as turning equipment. The company is able to produce optimized components without lengthening the supply chain with intermediate stops.
3D sand printing allows you to create filigree geometric shapes
Additive technology provides a wide range of opportunities for designers to work with. Phenolic direct bonding opens up completely new directions in design and finishing. Specialists are not limited by non-standard slope sizes or dividing lines. The VX1000 industrial printhead with piezo injectors works with resolutions up to 300 dpi. Unbound silica sand is completely recycled in the PDB process and can be reused for the next print. This is another economic benefit.
3D printed molds are so rigid that they can withstand the high pressure of the casting process as the metal flows in.
If a very filigree furan resin core is created, there is often a risk of breakage during casting. Phenolic mass as a binder allows rods from the 3D printing system and classical molding to achieve a higher level of stability. The bending strength achieved during the printing process is identical to rods made in the traditional way. 3D printed products are stable enough to be guaranteed to withstand the pressure of a metal casting, even with detailed hydraulic components.
Application of
The efficiency of optimizing the sand mold printing process can be seen in a practical example. For more than 30 years, Lütgemeier has been cooperating with the famous tuning studio Brabus.
The brand specializes in the improvement of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Among other things, the Brabus G900 was created based on the Mercedes AMG G 65. The production of a "supercar based on an SUV" was made possible by optimizing engine performance. Tailor-made turbochargers with larger housings contribute to a significant increase in ICE performance.
The tuning company was able to invest more time in post-processing and optimization of individual parts depending on the customer's requirements.
