After hours of searching these sites, there are a ton of files, but nothing is remotely close to what you’re looking for.

And then you’re stuck.

Fortunately, there are many STL search engines that you can use to find designs directly. No need to join a community, or wait for Thingiverse to load.

However, to this day, the technique is not known in all circles, and not everyone is aware of what 3D printing is. In today's article, we will try to explain in detail and in an accessible way what 3D printing is and where it is used.

In short, 3D printing is a technique for manufacturing three-dimensional products based on digital models. Regardless of the specific technology, the essence of the process is the gradual layer-by-layer reproduction of objects.
This process uses a special device - a 3D printer, which prints certain types of materials. More details about it are written here. Other names for the technology are rapid prototyping or additive manufacturing. Often the phrase "additive technologies" is used in the meaning of "3D technologies".

3D printing steps

To make it clearer what 3D printing is, let's take a look at the playback process step by step. Below are the specific stages of 3D printing. How it works:

  • 3D modeling of the required object is performed according to certain rules;
  • The file with the digital model is loaded into the slicer program, which generates the control code for the 3D printer;
  • Sets required 3D printing options;
  • The code is written to a removable memory that connects to the 3D printer;
  • 3D model reproduced.

Objects are reproduced gradually. According to the required shape, the selected material is applied layer by layer, forming the finished product. It is worth noting that the possibilities of 3D printing are almost limitless, that is, anything can be made. In some technologies, very thin overhanging elements are provided with supports, thanks to which they can be avoided from sagging.
Naturally, this is a very simplified description of the stages of 3D printing, but they give a very clear idea of ​​the essence of the technique.

3D Printing Technologies

Different 3D printing technologies are used to reproduce different objects. They differ both in the consumables used, and in the speed and accuracy of printing. Here are the main 3D printing technologies:

The thermal barrier is constantly clogged for no reason

Guys, hello everyone. I am writing here for the first time.

My hardware: self-assembly hotend E3DV6, hardened steel nozzle 0.4 3DSWAY, titanium thermal barrier 3DSWAY, powder-coated aluminum hitblock, aluminum heatsink, Sunon Maglev 12v radiator fan, hotend heater 50w 3DSWAY, the thermistor was the first 3DSWAY (sucks, died from for heat shrink, which is not designed for high temperatures), bought Trianglelab, installed today. DirectDrive transparent extruder. Previously, nema17 44mm hung on it, today I hung it on 23mm. The difference in weight is ~278 vs ~127 grams. My head is printed with K3D. Forgot to say Ender 3 Pro printer. Skr mini e3 v1.2. Marlin 2.1.1 (latest for today). There is a mirror on the table. I'm trying to print the same part for the 5th time. Time to print approximately 5 hours. Prints from 40min to 1.5 hours and starts skipping. I tried to help, at first it helps, but in the end, anyway, at some point, the supply completely stopped. Today I printed 1h24min and everything got up completely. Before that, I had been configuring the firmware from scratch all night, I even drew my own boots and status screens. In the morning I did an auto-calibration of the PIDs. Next is the LA test. I got 0.09. Then a retraction test. I'm fine at 0.4mm. I set 0.5mm in chicken and 30mm / sec speed. Then I printed a flow test. 92% barely noticeable "cracks" and voids. Put 95%. Travel speed 150. Seals 60. Temperatures 230/60. Airflow from two snails 5015 costs 33%. Plastic BestFilament PETG transitional (red). Since the tests were printed without problems, I run the part for printing for 5 hours. Well, you know what's next.

And so, I'm frustrated (once again plastic in the trash and time wasted in vain) I stop printing, while everything is hot, I unscrew the nozzle (this time I thought the nozzle was clogged). I'm trying to push plastic with the axis of the extruder - it can't, skipping steps. Not by hand either. I disassemble the entire hotend, there are no suspicions of incorrect assembly or something else. The plastic is stuck in the thermal barrier and that's it. While there are no traffic jams at all. The nozzle was closely drawn to the thermal barrier.

My hands are already down. Guys, I want to cry. So much strength and nerves to nowhere. I don't understand how people print and rejoice. I have had a printer for more than 2 years and I only printed normally when it was new and only when I assembled a self-assembly head for e3dv6 for the first time. I printed the print for 11 hours, then another part for 3.5 hours. Then more little things. Got high and everything. Then the losing streak began. With the fact that everything is 100% correctly assembled. Today I already felt that the bowl is filling up and someday it will overflow and the printer will go to the forefathers from the third floor.

I was already thinking of buying a hardened nozzle from trianglelab, now I was thinking of ordering a thermal barrier bimetal in the same place. But I already bought a nozzle from them on MK8. $ 12 is not lying around for a piece of metal. Will it help. The problem is not in the nozzle.

I will attach a photo to prove that there are no "classic" traffic jams.

I don't remember, but I think I forgot to stretch on the hot nozzle because of that plastic hitblock. But this picture does not change. The problem was and is. Always the same, calibration without problems, then about an hour of printing and that's it, they arrived.
