How does it work? "The process is easy it takes only a few minutes" to set up via your smart phone or tablet. The 3D body scanner will capture two scans of your body, one from the front & one from the side. You need to wear something reasonably close fitting to get an accurate body measurement scan. The pictures / scans of you are not seen by us, the system creates an avatar of your body shape based on 60+ different measurements.
Will 3D body scanning become the new normal? Who doesn't need a little help from technology. As the world adapts to a new normal, we wanted to be able to offer a suitable alternative to having your measurements taken in studio. "3D scanning will not affect how you purchase. You can still book a private tailoring appointment in our showroom, request a home appointment or book an online zoom appointment.

How it works
- A professional 3D body scanner allows you to create an exact three-dimensional copy of an employee in 30 seconds and determine more than 100 body measurements according to the GOST R ISO 8559-1 standard.
- Unique software uses the obtained sizing to compare with the workwear supplier's sizing charts and then recommend the right size.
- Further, up-to-date anthropometric data, as well as the recommended PPE size, can be automatically uploaded to the existing CRM/ERP system.
Get rid of the problem when men do not know their sizes, and women are embarrassed to name real ones and underestimate the size.
Measuring accuracy
The accuracy of the body measurements obtained has been proven by numerous studies, including international ones.
At the conference “3DBODY.TECH” 2020 at the Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia (IBV) supported by IEEE, manual measurements by professional tailors and automatic measurements on the Portal MX scanner were compared.
72 people (36 men and 36 women) were measured during the study. The results of the study showed that the error of automatic measurements of the scanner is 50% lower than with manual measurements.

As the daughter of an IT specialist and a fan of new technologies, during the pandemic, I decided to test a new idea: the use of a 3d scanner in the field of individual and mass tailoring. This state-of-the-art marvel of cameras and a rotating platform can be used to enhance your image in both the real and virtual worlds.
Use of in real world .
Just 30 seconds to scan and 1 minute to create a digital 3D model! The scanner creates a digital mannequin of a person, and digital algorithms analyze and evaluate his physique and anthropometry. The technology allows you to quickly, contactlessly take up to 100 measurements.
Having accurate data about a particular person helps the designer create digital patterns of the right size and sew a perfectly fitting suit or dress. In comparison, a classic tape measure takes 30 minutes, provided that this work is done by an experienced taylor/tailor.
The rapid and non-contact method of taking measurements with a scanner can take individual tailoring to a whole new level, significantly increasing the scale and coverage. Such scanners can be installed in any shopping center, where everyone can take measurements and order from the catalog an outfit individually made especially for him at large factories.
In order for this technology to be correctly implemented, we, together with experienced professional tailors and designers, as well as representatives of large Chinese and Italian factories, carried out a reconciliation: we checked the correctness of taking measurements with a scanner and compared the data with the values obtained by the tailors. The values were similar but not identical. To minimize the error, we introduced coefficients for the correct conversion of measurement results. But the 3d model definitely allowed factories to better understand the anthropometric data of the client and, as a result, the final product required fewer fittings, which certainly had a positive effect on customer loyalty.
And the process of non-contact taking measurements was liked by the clients much more than measuring with a tape.
Another important finding from our research was that the scanner is particularly effective for clients who are critical of second-skin fit: dancers, figure skaters, gymnasts and other athletes.
The scanner is ideal as a virtual fitting room for online shopping. Measurements taken with a scanner allow you to give recommendations on the selection of clothes - namely, to get the right size when making a purchase in an online store. In addition, the client can virtually try on clothes from the online store, thereby minimizing the risks of returning goods to the store.
These technologies can also be used in medicine and in the beauty and health industry. We, together with personal fitness trainers, conducted control tests on the scanner before and after the training program. After two weeks of training, the participants in the mirror did not notice changes in the figure, however, comparing their digital models with a difference of 2 weeks, they saw a huge difference - 80% of the subjects lost 1-2 cm in their main indicators.
In addition, when comparing digital models, positive changes in posture are visible. Of course, such clear progress keeps the client motivated and allows the coach to choose the best training plan based on the dynamics of change. Also, 3d copies are actively used by plastic surgeons and orthopedists to model the reference result and track the dynamics of changes.
World virtual. Metaverses.
To travel in the Metaverses, you need to have your own digital avatar - a body with which you move, play football, try on virtual clothes. The scanner creates it in minutes. This is a kind of virtual ID. This is a new tool for communication and self-expression in the digital dimension.
While living in Bali, I got into the world of NFTs and the Metaverses - the world of digital art and installations. It was there that I began to further test the idea of a 3d scanner. And at the International Conference NFT 2022, I met the star of the Metaverse — Zorian.
He is the founder of THE Research Institute, the creator of digital shows, the man who, back in 2017, made his first avatar for the Metaverse. “It takes days, weeks to photograph a person to create a three-dimensional avatar. And when using a scanner, most of the work happens automatically. This is an ideal tool for the widespread use of digital avatars and the Metaverse as a whole.”
I am sure that the fashion industry's practice of mass-producing clothes of the same model will soon become a thing of the past. It will be replaced by individual tailoring of a thing for a specific person using his digital mannequin and a virtual fitting room. This will solve the world problem of overproduction and environmental pollution.
And in a parallel reality - the Metaverse - our avatars will simulate the future, participate in simulations, build new cities, play, improve themselves and the world without limits. And the scanner is the tool, the portal that connects the real and virtual worlds.
