I purchased a couple Titan 1s a year and half ago to replace the $100,000 3D printer I have been working with for 10 years. Performance of Titan 1 is just as good as that of the high end 3D printer. I have been printing almost every day and produced more than 4000 customized rings over the last 18 months. My customers are also very happy about the casting results. The printers are super reliable and require little maintenance and calibration after they are set up. I am very happy with my Kudo3D printers and decided to purchase another Titan 2 to increase my capacity further.

Rem3D, a jewelry designer

I’m really pleased with my purchase of the titan 2 dlp 3d printer. Sure, there is a learning curve but Kudo3D staff helped me all the way through it during my first two weeks, flawless customer support ! Great high resolution 3D Printer, high details, very fast and many different resins to choose from for every type of work since you have full control of the printing parameters. I will add that is a plus for me to have an open source 3D printer with most of the parts easily accessible. All in all I’m an happy customer who now print a lot !

Mike R. , Vertex Media, a 3D Arch Viz/Photography & Web Services Company

We spent a long time investigating the different printing options in the market; FDM, Laser and DLP SLA. Finally, we chose the SLA technology for its great quality and high resolution. After that, TITAN 1 by Kudo3D was the best option for its great adaptability, being Open Source, and low maintenance. The Open Source option was no longer an essential, because the software that comes with the TITAN 1 includes all the necessary settings to adapt to all models, different resins, and is highly configurable. This has been fundamental in our jobs, because every print is a new challenge. The tools provided by the TITAN 1 allow you to print all kinds of high resolution models.

I love my Kudo3D Titan 1, it allows me to print larger and faster than the other options out there at a resolution that really shows off the details I put into my work. There’s nothing else I’d rather use to bring my digital creations to life.

Nathan Storm, a digital sculptor

Before using the Titan 1, I used another laser-based SLA desktop 3D printer for rough prototypes. I then spent $800 a month on high-end 3D prints from several different vendors printing on $35,000 machines. The Titan 1 has replaced that other SLA desktop printer and that $35,000 machine. That $800 a month now comes to me and I have enough business that I purchased a second Titan 1. Forgot to mention that the lifetime of the resin container is superior. We are able to print ultra high resolution miniatures for over 500 hours per
container.

Joshua Qualtieri, ZombieSmith, a miniatures manufacturer

For the past couple of years we have been using two other desktop DLP 3D printers and before we purchased the Titan 1, print size was limited because of a smaller build envelope. We are replacing our smaller build printers with a second Titan 1 for our projects that require 50 microns XY resolution and sub 50 microns high resolution printing – all within a larger build envelope. Printing with the Titan 1 has resulted in an overall reduction in our printing costs. With increased print speed, a lower print failure rate, and the need to use fewer supports, we realize a reduction in printing time, material use, file setup and post processing time. Above all, the resin container has a lifetime that other printers cannot match. Set supports, slice, and press run!

Kudo3D Releases Their Latest PSP Technology Driven 3D Printer, The Titan 2 - 3DPrint.com

It’s been just about two years since the San Francisco, California-based startup Kudo3D launched a Kickstarter in support of the Titan 1, a lightning fast SLA 3D printer that uses their unique passive self-peeling (PSP) technology, which is a patent-pending, bottom-up process engineered to minimize the separation force between the cured layers and the resin. Their crowdfunding campaign was a definite success, raising almost $700,000, and the Titan 1 proved to be an exceptionally speedy and high-quality printer.

Now, Kudo3D is attempting to flip the SLA 3D printing market (literally) upside-down once again, this time with their newly released high-performance DLP SLA 3D Printer, the Titan 2. The printer will utilize the same PSP technology, a flexible resin container equipped with six different materials, all of which work together to aid in reducing the separation force. This process allows for extremely high-resolution printing, ranging between 37-100 microns depending on the specified application it’s being utilized for. Not only does this passive double peeling mechanism lead to higher resolutions, it also promotes exceptional surface quality and print speed.

The Titan 2 will also be web-controlled, allowing users to command and monitor the printer from their PC, Mac, smartphone, or tablet. In fact, one web-based device can be used to control multiple Titan 2 3D printers simultaneously. Kudo3D’s newest machine is equipped with a built-in Raspberry Pi, a shutter to reduce background exposure, and also a newly formulated build platform made from a mesh-like component that reduces the vacuum force between the layers being printed. The setup procedure of the Titan 2 has been simplified as well, as it’s shipped out fully assembled and pre-calibrated at 50 microns, requiring only a power cord to get started.

With a build size of 7.5 x 4.3 x 9.8 inches and quick print speed of 2.7 inches per hour, the Titan 2 looks to be one of the more efficient desktop SLA printers on the market, which is currently being pioneered by Formlabs and their Form 2 3D printer. According to Kudo3D, the all-metal mechanical structure is extremely sturdy, and is expected to give customers at least 10 years of use. The startup is offering potential customers the full 3D printing package, which includes the Titan 2, which is available in either a green emerald or red ruby cover, two PSP resin containers, a small and large build platform, and a kilogram of 3DM-ABS resin too. The package is listed at $3,488, but those who pre-order before June 19 will receive a $200 discount.

With these PSP resin containers, each of which was formulated to promote and enhance the PSP printing process, users can print objects with elasticity, toughness, or even for direct investment casting. The Titan 2 3D printer package will include a variety of these resin vats, offering customers instant induction into the full potential of their unique PSP technology. As Kudo3D continues to build off of the strong start from their first 3D printer, the Titan 2 certainly has the potential to help turn the SLA 3D printing market onto its head. Discuss further in the Titan 2 3D Printer forum over at 3DPB.com.

Custom titanium 3D printing. Sprint 3D!

Titanium is a widely used metal for 3D printing. It is also one of the most practical, being both very wear-resistant and lightweight. 3D printing with titanium is used in various industries: medical (in particular, individual prosthetics), aerospace, space, engineering and others. The only significant disadvantage of titanium is its increased reactivity in powder form. Therefore titanium printing on a 3D printer must be performed by qualified specialists and in an inert Argon gas environment.

You can already order 3D titanium printing in our company Sprint 3D. We guarantee the quality, durability of all products, meeting deadlines and a personalized approach. All the details are below.

PROCESSIONS AY ACTION

For a long time, 3D printing technology was expensive and out of reach for most potential customers. Only in recent years has it and printing software become more accessible. And most importantly, they made it possible to print not only with plastics, but also with more durable materials. nine0007

Due to its low density and high resistance to mechanical and thermal influences, titanium has become one of the optimal materials for printing products in various industries.

Already now printing with titanium on the 3D printer allows you to print structures for aerospace, automotive, military, jewelry and many other important industries. That is, even where particularly high precision in production is important.

Titanium is 3D printed according to the classical technology as follows:

1. Metal in powder form is processed by electron beam melting. This technology allows you to create the thinnest layer - less than 0.2 mm.

2. Melting takes place in a special chamber by means of a directed action of electronic emitters.

3. Sequential layers are formed in the chamber until the desired dimensions and shape of the product are achieved. nine0007

In some cases, titanium products are milled, but modern technology and software allow you to create products of high complexity without the need for post-processing. This reduces production time and makes it more cost-effective due to the lack of additional technologies.

Titanium printing on the 3D printer involves the use of additive manufacturing technology - direct laser sintering. Briefly, it can be divided into two stages:

1. A thin layer of titanium powder is fed onto the heating table.

2. A carbon dioxide laser fuses titanium powder particles to each other and to the previous layer.

Please note: when 3D printing with titanium, there is no traditional shine familiar to many - the details are somewhat dull and rough. However, if the characteristic titanium sheen is important to you, it can be achieved with manual processing. Polishing allows you to easily and quickly achieve the desired visual look with a bright and attractive sheen. nine00007

Key Features of

Titanium 3D Printing

Despite its practicality and versatility,

3D printing with titanium has some limitations, which we always warn our customers about.

  1. Difficulty printing products with right angles and lines. Titanium has many features, and one of them is not perfect straight lines. But smooth shapes and rounded elements look great. Plus, they are more convenient and easier to process in the future. Therefore, most experts agree that the angles in titanium-printed objects should be at least 35 degrees. nine0004
  2. The need for product support when printing. When using DMLS technology, model support is required. The product must be firmly fixed to the base. Without this, it is impossible to achieve high printing accuracy. After the printing process is completed, the support is removed.
  3. There are some nuances when printing small items, as well as when reproducing depressions by engraving. For example, when printing letters from titanium. If we print titanium letters, the minimum thickness is 0.4mm, and the thickness of the recesses is about 0.15mm. nine0102

There are other features of 3D printing with titanium depending on the products to be printed. We always discuss all these aspects with the client before completing the order.

Specifications of titanium

When printing with this metal, the parameters of this metal and the requirements for products based on it must be taken into account:

  1. The walls of the product must be no thinner than 0.4 mm.
  2. Small parts size up to 0.25 mm.
  3. Printing accuracy is about 0.2%.
  4. Tensile strength - 1140 MPa.
  5. Rockwell hardness approx. 37 HRC.
  6. Density - 4.41 grams per cm3.
  7. Melting point - 1660 degrees Celsius.
