I must say right away that this study is purely theoretical in nature and has not been confirmed by me in practice.
That's what was confirmed in practice, so this is the fact that more than once it was required to use more powerful steppers (and therefore drivers for them) in combination with Ramps 1.
4 (or cnc shield).
And when you connect the wires from the breadboard driver type TB6560 to the ramp, the thought involuntarily arises of how to fasten all this more securely.
And here thoughts constantly return to a large, beautiful and dusty (from non-use) optocoupler board. Everything is bolted there, if there are connectors, you can also weld them. But how???
How, how - Google to the rescue. I came across the fact that this idea was already implemented, but the second time I could not find it. So it remains to delve into the pinout from MACh4, under which this scarf is sharpened.
Well, then - everything is in the pictures. This scarf is quite suitable for both mega and una. Everything on it is the same. A machine is a machine. But if instead of Una you use Arduino Nano or (God forgive me!) Pro Mini in general, then these small ones can generally be attached to the LPT connector (either directly or soldered and plugged into the mother).
*Note. There is a mistake in the last photo. The limit switch is connected not to the 12th pin, but to the 11th. The 12th is responsible for the spindle or the engine of the A axis....
And then Ostap suffered. After all, you can reverse the idea in the opposite direction. Take the finished machine with the 'cerebellum' under MACh4. Take Mega with a display and a memory card, stitched like a CNC (marlin or repeater), and steer the machine using this case without any computer. But that's the way it came to mind.
These are not idle thoughts. I'm waiting for big engines for TB6560. So I decided to bring these thoughts to the public. In order to connect the collective mind, so to speak...
