Everyone wants to live in an attractive and comfortable room. The concept of “attractiveness” is different for everyone - someone feels as comfortable as possible in a house with a minimalist interior, and someone needs bright flashy colors or a lot of different little things that create home comfort.

A great opportunity to make your home unusual is to place 3D wallpapers on the walls. Manufacturers offer a wide selection of such wallpapers for every taste, so absolutely everyone can choose a new wall design that would suit the specific design and interior of the room.

Competition in this type of business is still low, which makes it possible for any budding entrepreneur to freely enter this market.

Business prospects

The 3D effect is familiar to everyone. Volumetric images attract, interest, and sometimes even amaze how realistic the drawing looks. Wallpapers with the 3D effect were introduced into production relatively recently, but they immediately gained popularity and still do not give up their positions.

3D wallpapers are ordered both for apartments and houses, as well as for offices and shopping centers. With regard to the latter, we present impressive statistics: according to researchers, in shopping centers that have placed 3D wallpapers on the walls, sales increased by an average of 35-45%.

As you can see, this is an additional means of attracting buyers. If you decide to start a business in the production and sale of 3D wallpapers, then there should be no problems finding customers, because there will be plenty of people who want to transform their home or draw attention to their business.

3D wallpaper features

To make 3D wallpapers look the way they should, the main thing is to glue them on a flat surface. It does not matter what it will be - walls, ceiling or any other surface. To enhance the 3D effect, special fluorescent lighting is used. However, even under normal daylight or artificial lighting, 3D wallpapers will look gorgeous - the picture will be clear and of high quality.

3D wallpapers can also be panoramic, that is, the image continues on all walls of the room. This creates an even greater effect of volume. A person in such a room begins to feel that he is, as it were, inside the picture. Many manufacturers make fireproof 3D wallpapers. They are impregnated with a special substance that prevents ignition. 3D wallpapers are not afraid of either water (they can be safely washed) or bright light (they will not deteriorate under the influence of sunlight).

3D wallpaper production business plan

This business pays off quickly, as the products are in great demand and popular. To start a business, you will need from 2 to 5 thousand dollars. This amount will be spent on the purchase of equipment (computer, printer), as well as on the purchase and maintenance of the necessary software. At first, a printer for large formats can be rented.

Also, certain costs will be associated with the rent of the office where you will work. In fact, this business can be run from home, however, if you want to create a serious company and gain the trust of customers, it is better to have your own office. Since the whole process of creating 3D wallpapers is quite long and laborious (especially if custom-made development is underway), the price of finished products is rather high. Despite this, demand remains strong, so with a successful marketing strategy, you will recoup your initial investment fairly quickly.

How 3D wallpapers are made

Perhaps the technology of making 3D wallpaper may seem something very complicated and inaccessible to an ordinary person. In fact, there is nothing incomprehensible here. The only thing you need to know is the skill of working in various graphics programs and editors, as well as knowing at least the basics of three-dimensional graphics. More information about which programs will be useful to you will be discussed below. To begin with, we give step-by-step instructions for making volumetric wallpapers and applying them to the wall:

Step 1.

Create a 3D image.

First you need to create directly the picture that will show off on the walls of your customers in the future. As a basis, you can take any photo taken by you personally, your customer, or simply found on the Internet, and recreate it in three-dimensional form. With the help of special programs (see below), you can also create a three-dimensional image with almost any pattern.

Step 2. Create an interior model.

When the 3D drawing is ready, you can start creating a model of the room (of course, also in 3D format), which will contain the wallpaper. This is necessary in order to imagine how the wallpaper will look in reality. If you make wallpaper to order and the client has provided you with information about the size of the room, the height of the walls, the presence of windows, etc., then you need to use these data when creating a 3D interior. So you can completely recreate the future room with 3D wallpaper and understand if something needs to be changed in the image on the wallpaper to make it look good. If you do not have such data, then use the standard dimensions of living quarters.

Step 3 Print the image.

In order for 3D wallpapers to be of high quality and not deteriorate under the influence of various factors, they are applied to a polyester coating. You can print the image using a printer that is designed to work with large paper sizes.

Step 4. Surface preparation.

In order for the 3D wallpaper to lay perfectly on the surface and not lose its main three-dimensional effect, the wall must be perfectly even. If this is not the case, it must be cleaned of irregularities, cracks and chips removed. When you have made the surface clean and even, you need to apply a small amount of primer.

Step 5. Wallpapering.

In some cases, wallpaper is placed in a special frame, but this is more true for retail space and other public places. As for living quarters, 3D wallpapers are applied to the walls with ordinary wallpaper glue (designed for vinyl wallpapers). Using a special roller, level each section of the newly applied wallpaper. The 3D effect will be preserved only if the wallpaper is pasted as neatly and evenly as possible. Avoid air bubbles between wall and wallpaper.

3D imaging programs

So, at the first stage of making an image, you will need programs such as Photoshop, Poser, Blender 3D and others. With the help of them you can create a 3D image, which will later become wallpaper. To create a three-dimensional interior model, use 3D Studio MAX or Sweet Home 3D. The first one is richer in functionality and capabilities, however, it also needs a computer with higher power. In general, there are many programs for working with three-dimensional images, and you can find one that is convenient for you to work with.

Business promotion

The best way to make a name for your 3D wallpaper company is to create a quality website and actively promote it. Use contextual advertising, place a link to your site on other resources (of course, by mutual agreement).
