3D-Printed Sex Toy Generator - Design Your Own Dildo

You're shopping for a new sex toy. After weighing the pros and cons of countless options, it becomes clear that nothing has that just-right combination of bumps/curves/bends/colored silicone that your body really craves. Sure, you could create a silicone replica of your favorite phallus — but that would be so 2013. With the staggering advances we've made in 3D printing, who could settle for anything less than a fully-customized dildo, entirely engineered based on your specifications?

A pretty incredible new website by Berlin-based programmer Ikaros Kappler makes it really easy to design your own 3D-printed bedroom buddy. Just fiddle around with the sliders and curves on the diagram, and the site adjusts the resulting device in real time. Everything from length to width to angle is completely customizable, and there's even a choice of 10 Crayola-bright colors to satisfy your every whimsical wish.

Of course, 3D technology isn't able to generate a ready-to-go silicone toy just yet; current printing processes produce objects with too many pores, which can cause bacteria buildup as well as some nasty chafing. Rather, the program creates designs for molds, which are then 3D-printed and filled with silicone to create your dream dildo.

For those of you lucky ducks with your own 3D printer, realizing your creation in its full silicone glory is as easy as hitting the "save" button and loading the file into your printer's program. If you've not yet jumped on that particular bandwagon, not to worry: The .STL files generated by the site are compatible with third-party printing services like this one.

Click over to the appropriately-titled dildo-generator.com to give the system a whirl. As Jezebel notes, the process is bizarre, bonkers, and really, really fun. My creation can be seen above. His name is Pablo. The yellow's pretty festive, no?

'Dildo Generator' Lets You 3D Print Your Own, Personalized Sex Toy

Image: Flickr/Dildo Generator

It's no surprise that with the advent of 3D printing one of the first things

people wanted to make was sex toys

. One of great things about 3D printing, after all, is being able to personalise consumer objects. And what could be more personal than your very own uniquely designed dildo?

Geekosystem stumbled across a site that allows makers to do just that. The descriptively named 'Dildo Generator' lets you tweak a phallic model until it fits your preferences just so, ready to be saved and exported so the 3D file of your fantasy can be forever solidified in silicone.

I reached out to Ikaros Kappler, the Berlin-based programmer behind the project, to ask why. Fittingly, the idea came to him while he was hanging out with friends, drinking beer, and listening to techno at a maker space.

"It was the aim to print something more useful instead of printing small figurines to put on your windowsill," he told me over email. He also wanted to explore the new features of HTML5. "Oh, and I love Bézier curves!" he added. Those are the curves you can make by adjusting points at either end on a computer model, always resulting in a nice smooth finish. Pretty important to dildo design, I guess.

The idea of 3D-printed toys is far from new, but what differentiates this project is its simplicity and accessibility. We've seen companies that'll scan your dick and print a model of it, and free marketplaces of often eyebrow-raisingly intricate sex toy designs you can share and download. But Dildo Generator is easy enough for pretty much anyone to give it a go. It's the DIY side of the 3D-printed sex toy revolution.

You start with a pretty generic cylinder and you can adjust sliders to change the height, circumference, shape, bend (up to 180 degrees—ouch!), and of course colour. You can pretty quickly get to some rather experimental designs, and I guess you could use the tool to make any basic 3D model, presuming it fits the vaguely dildo-shaped parameters. It took me about three seconds of playing around to make this not-so-sexy specimen:

It might not look like much (or really be fit for purpose), but I dread to think how long it would have taken me to design from scratch. The difficulty of using 3D modeling software has long been one of the remaining barriers to bringing 3D printing to the mainstream, and though this project clearly has its own very specific applications, it also shows that you shouldn't really need much know-how to get involved with basic 3D design.

Once you're satisfied with your design, Kappler doesn't recommend printing it straight out in plastic filament. If size and shape matters, so does texture—and, you know, basic safety and hygiene.

"The first results were directly printed dildos, made with PLA (polylactic acid), which is pretty brittle and hard," he said. "Not a nice material for sex toys." So they decided instead to print molds that can then be filled with silicone to make the actual toy, with fewer sharp edges.

Developer Jan Northoff runs a 3D printing shop where you can print the mold for your design, and order the silicone if you want. "We use medical silicone to cast the dildos, so they are safe for use," Kappler assured me. "Additionally we smoothen the molds' surface, so it gets less bumpy (from the printing process)." The Dildo Generator site does note, however, that the software and printing is "somewhat experimental," and that results may vary. So you've been warned.

Kappler's now planning to branch out a little in the tech-sex space, and it sounds like he's been doing his homework. "I visited some sex shops and got inspired to make generators for more than just dildos," he said. "There is some cool and fancy stuff people start to do when it comes to sex, and it should only afford some smaller modifications to the code. "

3D printing, as a type of activity, makes it possible to create not only decorative crafts and toys, but also more complex things. I love that a 3D printer allows you to make quick prototypes of models that used to take an incredible amount of time and money to produce. And many ideas and technical solutions received a second wind. nine0003

I would like to introduce to the respected community 3dtoday Gen6 is a miniature power generator.

This generator was developed as a bench prototype for one of the alternative energy projects.

All bearing and body parts are 3D printed. The generator is useful to everyone who is interested in the topic of energy. For example, in small camping wind and hydro generators. With minor modifications to the fasteners, it can be used as a bicycle generator. Also, as a wind generator, it can provide autonomous power for all kinds of remote electronic devices (for example, video cameras and Wi-Fi access points, LoRa systems, and so on). nine0003

Features:

1. Rotor .

Its magnetic system is made in the form of Halbach-assembly (Halbach array). This provided two benefits. First, there is no need for a magnetic circuit. Secondly, the Halbach assembly is a kind of analogue of a lens for a magnetic field. That is, on one side of the assembly, the magnetic field is almost absent, and on the reverse side, the field intensity is twice as high (relative to a single magnet and for ideal conditions). The disadvantage of this method of assembling the magnetic system of the generator is that it requires twice the number of magnets relative to the number of poles. In total, there are 16 neodymium magnets 20X5x5 N42 in the rotor, that is, 8 poles. nine0003

More details about the Halbach assembly can be found in my video 'Kinetic Powerbank Generator'.

2.

Stator.

There are 8 identical spools on the printed base. Two coils fall on one pair of poles in such a way that two magnets with different poles pass the active conductors of the same coil at the same time. That is, the distance between the active parts of the coils (more precisely, their centers) is equal to the pitch of the rotor poles. The coils are assembled in pairs and molded in such a way that part of one coil enters the center of the second. Thus, we can say that this is a 2-phase generator with a rotor on a magnetic Halbach assembly. nine0003

Next, paired and unpaired coils are connected in series. And the voltage on the coils is summarized after two diode bridges.

Coils are wound with 0.2mm wire, but other diameters are also available. Please note that to obtain the desired voltage, you may need to add a multiplier, such as a planetary type. I am sure that for 3D printers this will not be a problem. ;)

Shaft 5 mm, magnets NdFeB 20X5X5mm N42 16 pcs.

Generator dimensions 60X45 mm without shaft length, weight 260 grams. nine0003

Testing is still ahead, I will report the results a little later.

3.

Assembly order.

After all parts of the generator are printed, the compound rotor is assembled first. We pay attention to the correct assembly of magnets. Next, insert the shaft into the rotor. After that, we put the rotor in the holder of the stator coils. This will make it easier to assemble the stator and mold the coils. Forming coils is not a difficult task, but requires the application of physical strength, so I had to strain. nine0003

(Based on the fact that you have already wound the coils and wrapped them with PTFE tape)

After that, we put the bearings on the shaft, stator stops and put on the body parts - first the central part, and then the upper and lower covers.

Generator ready!

All files for printing can be found on my page. If you have questions - you are welcome. But first - to Ampère and Oersted. :D

And a few more words about the creative life of Ukraine.

Kharkiv Mini Maker Faire 2017 was recently held in Kharkiv - a festival of technology, invention and creativity, where I was a participant. This day was full of new impressions, new acquaintances and a good festive mood. nine0003

My son gave me invaluable help, who for the first time picked up a 3D pen and worked with children in drawing)) For him, as an IT specialist, the popularity of 3D printing in the community of makers was a discovery.

I wish you all creative success.

Tanya.

a serious level by creating a service for the additive production of full-fledged products for sex.

The service offers a really wide range of ready-made products, as well as the opportunity to personally make an exclusive sex toy in the silence and comfort of your home. nine0003

Manufacturing is possible in two different ways:

First method

A 3D printer is taken (in the video above, in particular, a desktop 3D printer is used, in particular in the video - Ultimaker2, on which a two-part blank of the future product is printed Standard PLA is used for printing

The parts are then tightly bonded together and filled with silicone from Smooth-On The Dragon Skin 2 silicone rubber material used by SexShop3D is phthalate-free, non-toxic and generally hygiene, which makes it the optimal material for the production of such products.0003

When mixed, a flesh-colored dye is added to it, as a result of which we get an output that is indistinguishable from the factory blank for a future sex toy.

Second method

PLA is not used at all - instead the product is printed immediately with silicone Using the same 3D printer, on which a special extruder is installed, a completely silicone mold is created. The principle, however, is the same. The only difference is that in this case the material does not linger in the extruder, but is applied very smoothly, as a result of which, layer by layer, we get an impeccable model of the desired product. nine0003

In addition to the commercial direction, the service makes instructions for DIY toys at home.

Free services for creating models include http://www.dildo-generator.com/ More information can be found at http://www.aniwaa.com/3d-printed-sex-toys/

Above all In addition, SexShop3D willingly cooperates with independent 3D model designers and offers anyone who wants the opportunity to use its platform to promote their projects on very favorable terms (from 50 to 80 percent of revenue - depending on the number of sales and commission on a particular workpiece).
