Table lamp via 3D printing
3D modeling
Good day to all!
I haven't written anything for a long time, I decided to share my craft.
Many ordinary people who are not versed in 3D printing, when they say 'I'm doing 3D printing', make round eyes and then give out the following: 'ahhh, you stick stickers on T-shirts';)))).
No, not stickers! Not on t-shirts! nine0003
3D printing is something... magical. Something that never ceases to amaze!
Every time you create something new, you rejoice like a child, watching how an object that was just on the monitor screen appears out of 'nothing'.
In this article I would like to tell you how I printed a table lamp using a 3D printer.
The need to purchase a table lamp arose recently, in search of shops I did not find a lamp that would suit me, the lighting was poor. I needed a lamp not only to read books. :)
Without thinking twice, I decided to design (it sounds loud))), to model some kind of lamp body. In order not to print the lamp all out of plastic, I decided to purchase a chrome-plated metal pipe for the racks, about a meter in diameter was enough 16 mm).
As a light source, the choice fell on the BEGHLER-ECOLINE-14.4W-60LED-5050-6400K-(cold white)-12VDC-IP20 LED strip.
Assuming that the LEDs will heat up when turned on, I decided to glue the tape to a piece of galvanized metal, 200x110 mm in size, so that there would be at least some heat dissipation. nine0003
Having cut the tape into pieces, glued them to a piece of metal, it turned out like this:
After a few hours of modeling, something similar came out, please don’t throw stones at once, the lamp is experimental, will be finalized later.
Printed with ABS plastic from the company 'FD Plast', the photo shows that the parts are not printed perfectly, this is my fault and the fault of the 8-bit 'Ramps', which cannot cope with printing round parts, at speeds above 100 mm / with.
Yes, these parts in the photo are printed at a speed of 100mm/s, maybe more. I have experimentally proven that 'Ramps' can withstand a speed of 70 mm / s, this is if you print complex parts. With straight lines with increasing speed copes very well. nine0003
But we are off topic. Everything was printed with a layer of 0.20 mm, a nozzle of 0.40 mm, at a temperature of 245 degrees hot and 95 tables.
When modeling the 'plafond', I left a couple of millimeters of space between the metal plate and the body, and made ventilation slots in the 'plafond' itself. So that the heat could go up, there was an idea to install a 'cooler' 30x30 .... but as it turned out, this is superfluous. The panel itself with LEDs did not get very hot.
To connect the parts, 4 m6 screws, 4 m6 nuts, and 4 m3 screws were used, which were painted black. The tubes were attached to the plastic with screws. nine0003
As a result, something like this came out:
I printed the diffuser from transparent PETG, but I liked it better without it). So I removed it.
If you are interested in the assembly process, here is a video:
Good luck everyone!

Device for polymerizing products during 3D printing with photopolymers
nine0002 Most people know about 3D printers and many people know that special plastic threads (filament) are used for printing. The most common are various (conditionally) plastic material. But there are other types of threads, for example, wood, metal, the same plastic with wood or metal filler.
Another not the most common 3D printer is a photopolymer 3D printer.
Resin 3D printing is known for its excellent ability to produce very beautiful, highly detailed parts. This is due to the technology of polymerization in vats. nine0003
Bath polymerization uses a photopolymer in the form of a viscous liquid, a resin and a light source to cure the resin.
Despite the fact that during the printing process the product is irradiated with a UV lamp, the resin does not polymerize completely. You can place the workpiece under the sun's rays, but in winter this is problematic. You can make a camera and install a UV light source in it. Moreover, polymerization requires lamps with a wavelength of 405 nm.
Tools and materials:
-3D printer; nine0081 - UV lamp;
- Mirror film;
- Turntable;
- Fasteners;
- Scissors;
- Screwdriver;
Step one: 3D printing
The curing chamber body consists of four parts: two sides, a back and a cover.
When printing on the case, the master designed an inscription with his name.
Printable file can be downloaded here.
Resin Curing Station.stl
Step two: pasting
After printing the details, the master pasted over the inside with a mirror film. The film will reflect UV rays, and they will fall on the product.
