Bonus Halloween factoid: Maybe you knew that the above quote comes from Shakespeare's Macbeth, but did you know that Macbeth was one the first times a ghost (as we think of them now) appeared in a book or on stage? In fact, some credit the ghost in Macbeth for influencing how we think about ghosts today!

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I printed, weak and weary…
We could have also done a Hitchcock Birds quote there, but, either way, the crow is as classic an ill-omen as a broken mirror. In many classical mythologies, the crow serves as the representation of a murdered soul or a damned soul. Spooky, right?!
Thankfully, this little guy isn't quite so scary. A servo motor brings this guy to life as he looks around the room, swiveling his head back and forth.
If you want the joy of crow ownership without the hassle of electronic guts, you can find a non-animated version here.

If you've seen any of the countless Frankenstein films, then you'll remember Dr. Frankenstein's assistant, Igor, pushing these switch plates levers up and down to make the electricty flow. It's as if the kind of power that brought the creature to life could only be activated by one of these huge iron levers.
Now you have the power to give life to your creation! So why turn lights on with a measly switch when you could throw the lever! This functional print is guaranteed to brighten up the room.

The history of Halloween.
Halloween is a holiday celebrated every year on October 31st. The tradition began with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced "sou-in"), when people donned costumes and lit fires to scare away ghosts.
The Celts celebrated the New Year on the night of October 31st to November 1st. This day marked the end of summer, the harvest and the beginning of a dark cold winter - a season that often symbolized famine, disease and death of people. The Celts believed that on New Year's Eve the border between the worlds of the living and the dead disappears. They believed that on the night of October 31, the ghosts of the dead return to earth.
The tradition of dressing up in Halloween costumes has both European and Celtic roots. In the old days, winter for people was a vague, frightening and uncertain time. Supplies of candles and food often ran out prematurely, and for many people the long winter nights were filled with constant anxiety.
On Halloween, people were afraid they would run into ghosts if they left their homes. In order not to be recognized by these ghosts, people put on masks when leaving their homes after dark so that the ghosts would mistake them for other spirits.
On Halloween, in order to keep ghosts out of their homes, people put bowls of food outside their houses to appease the ghosts and prevent them from getting inside.
Halloween in Ukraine.
Every year around the world on the night of October 31 on All Saints Day or Halloween, adults and children dress up in fancy costumes, scare passers-by, arrange themed parties and have fun, parodying evil spirits.
How did this non-Ukrainian holiday fully enter our culture and how does it relate to Ukraine?
However, the ancient Celtic rituals were partially similar to Ukrainian ones. The holiday, like Halloween, also existed in Kievan Rus. But they celebrated it in the spring. The holiday was called Navi Day (the name comes from the ancient Slavic word "no" - deceased, deceased). On this day, the Slavs visited the graves, putting food on them. This holiday in Ukraine still exists.
Christianity became the predominant religion in the world, so the church began to fight against the pagan gods, but the pagans continued to celebrate their traditional holidays. As a result, Pope Gregory III established All Hallows Even, a similar pagan Catholic holiday. On this day, Christians glorify all the saints and martyrs.
Halloween of Celtic origin came to Ukraine after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Since then, Ukrainians have adopted the tradition from other countries to dress in creepy costumes, carve the main attribute of this holiday - a pumpkin, and collect candies among their neighbors.
The modern Orthodox Church still condemns this holiday, but every year there are more and more young people in Ukraine who are not against "going over to the side of evil" for one night.
But which side to choose is up to you. The main thing to remember is that Halloween is just a holiday and an opportunity to have fun.
Happy Halloween!

13 3D printed Halloween accessories and decorations
Headstone pumpkin
What would Halloween be without a pumpkin lantern? According to Irish legend, the sinner Jack managed to deceive the devil twice during his life. For these tricks, after death, his soul was not allowed into hell, and since then it has been wandering the earth and lighting the way with a piece of coal placed in a pumpkin. A mini-composition of a Jack-o'-lantern on a tombstone will decorate any holiday table. And in order for the pumpkin to glow, you will need to buy two LEDs.
Composition model can be downloaded here.
Gourd lampshade
An easy way to decorate rooms without any wires is the pumpkin lampshade. Cut out holes will give the room a mysterious and at the same time frightening look. Put the 3D printed frame on the electric candle and enjoy the atmosphere.
The model can be downloaded from the link.
Lantern in the form of a skull
And what is in the selection, besides pumpkins, you ask? Skulls! Check out this amazing skull lantern which is made up of several 3D printed parts and LED bulbs. With such a device, it is not scary to go out for a walk at midnight - on the contrary, everyone else will be afraid. In addition to printing, you will have to spend time soldering and connecting LEDs, but there is nothing complicated about it.
See website for detailed instructions and models.
Table figurine
It is better not to give this toy to children - it looks too scary. The little ominous pumpkin was originally created for a board game, but it's perfect for decorating your home. The developer provided a hole for the LED in the model, so you can scare the guests even in complete darkness.
Download the original here.
Spider
Insect lovers will love this cute spider with a human head. The product can be used as a simple decoration or costume detail. The author thought of other makers and separated the details of the spider for easier printing. If some of the legs or joints break, they can be printed separately.
stl files available from Thingiverse.
And the walls have eyes
An indispensable thing for a hospitable host is triple Velcro eyes that can be glued to the walls. Maker Evavooo offers to place in strategic places at home during a reception or party. It seems that guests will be pleasantly surprised that they are under the vigilant gaze of an incomprehensible creature.
Download Angel Eye sources from the link.
Candy Dispenser
Kids and sweet tooths will love this cute little trinket - the candy dispenser. It is relatively easy to make such a model. As the creator explains, the pumpkin has a stem that closes the hole in the mouth. It is enough to fill in sweets from above, open the hatch - and sweets will fall out one by one.
The size of the dispenser can be changed depending on the size of the sweets: the original model provides confectionery up to 15 mm in diameter.
The dispenser model can be found here.
Moving Pumpkins
For this Halloween, Kitronik has developed a range of fun moving toys that can be used as scary decorations.
Unfortunately, they all require additional parts in addition to the 3D printed ghost and pumpkin frames. The most important detail is the Kitronik :MOVE mini buggy, which transforms a pumpkin into a moving robot.
Full printing and encoding instructions can be found here.
Crow Skull
An excellent way to keep your drinks intact is to close them with an original cork. If your roommate stumbles upon such a bottle at night, he is unlikely to dare to touch it again. The author of the project, a big fan of steampunk, decided to turn the apartment into a creepy pharmacy store during Halloween. The cork in the form of a raven's skull struck him as amusing.
Plug model can be viewed at the link.
Pillory
If someone from the household made you angry on Halloween, you can punish him in a very original way ... Of course, a joke! This interesting garden decoration can be 3D printed along with the skeleton. In the photo, the author of the project uses wooden pallets, but Thingiverse has files for 3D printing with plastic.
Pendants
Small themed pendants can be easily and quickly printed on any 3D printer. Try it yourself. And remember - the chain will have to be purchased separately.
To download files follow the link.
Knife in the chest
With this accessory on your body, you will walk only to the first outfit of the teaching staff, so wear the original “decoration” only under the jacket. The knife consists of 4 parts, three of which are glued together. Between the clothes and the body, the item is held with a small screw. Unfortunately, a hole will inevitably have to be made in a T-shirt.
Required sources are here.
Dice Set
If you don't know how to scare your guests on Halloween's Eve, try non-standard ways. Even the strongest people will flinch at the sight of a baby dressed in a skeleton. And if a giant femur lies nearby, success is guaranteed. If desired, the skull can be made the size and size of an adult.
