How to get files for printing:

Generally 3D print files are ready as STL or OBJ format. ( We can convert for you )
Files may be obtained from your CAD work or from many online sites such as Thingiverse, GrabCad, Cults3D etc. If you need a hard to find part, a widget, gizmo or gadget, check out the above sites - often the part you need has already been created in 3D print ready CAD.

How to prepare your files for printing:

Generally speaking
When exporting from your CAD software to STL, your smooth nurbs get converted into triangulated flat surfaces, so ensure to use high resolution option.
Please ensure your files are 'water-tight' and without overlapping surfaces, as these can cause holes in your 3D print.

Exporting to STL from Maya
To ensure your mesh is completely sound for 3D Printing in Maya, a method to stitch your mesh together is doing the following: Select all of your polygons and click "Mesh > Boolean > Union" to make them one mesh. To ensure the polyflow is correct, select your mesh again and type "polyRemesh"in the MEL script editor. Tweak the settings to get your desired results.

Exporting to STL from ZBrush
To ensure your model is optimized for 3D printing in zBrush, you must make sure you export one subtool, which has been stitched together. A method of achieving this is doing the following: With all your subtools turned on, click Boolean>Make Boolean Mesh. This will spawn a new subtool  which you can insert under the Subtool> "Insert" option.

Exporting to STL from Sketchup
Once again, Sketchup produces surfaces not necessarily solids, and can suffer from non-manifold(non-'waterproof') elements, overlapping elements and thin walls. You can thicken and solidify as needed, or use a service like Makeprintable, which will attempt the fixups for just $2. Here is a video on how to integrate the Makeprintable service into Sketchup.

The main suspect in the murder of 50 people at two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch was taken to the district court the day before. By order of the judge, his face must be blurred in the video and photos from the courtroom. Brenton Tarrant, a 28-year-old Australian citizen, attacked mosques on March 15 after afternoon prayers. At the same time, he broadcast live an extraordinary act of violence - the execution of parishioners.

In order to shoot Muslims, Brenton Tarrant wrote a manifesto. Compared to the dimensionless and formless opus of Anders Breivik, who committed mass murder in 2011, this is a rather short and clear text. They also have something in common - interviews with themselves. It is for this reason that it is difficult to believe that Tarrant, as he himself assures, did not crave fame. A distinctive feature of this interview is that all questions are asked in the past tense, as if the execution had already taken place.

Of course, the first thing American journalists noticed was the mention of the US president. "Are you a supporter of Donald Trump?" Tarrant asks himself. And he replies: "As a symbol of a resurrected white identity and common purpose? Of course. As a politician and leader? Oh God, no."

Donald Trump tweeted as early as 8:00 am on March 15: "Expressing my warmest sympathy and best wishes to the people of New Zealand after the terrible massacre in mosques. 49 innocent people died so senselessly, so many injured. USA is ready to support New Zeeland than they can. God bless you!"

"Best Wishes" looks a bit odd in this text. It does not condemn the killers, and the massacre is not called a terrorist attack.

This clumsiness of expression has given commentators the opportunity to suspect the president of a poorly concealed affinity for the assassins. They reminded the public that, as soon as he became president, Donald Trump issued an executive order banning citizens of several Muslim countries from entering the United States, that in October last year he called himself a nationalist, and after the bloody drama in Charlottesville, where marchers clashed in August 2017 right with anti-fascists, blamed the violence on both sides.

During the day, the formula of the official attitude to the tragedy underwent several modifications. At the beginning of the tenth Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated the following: "I want to express my personal condolences to the people of New Zealand on the heinous attack on mosques in Christchurch. The American people in their thoughts and prayers today with the victims and their families. The United States condemns this act of violence dictated by hatred. In this dark hour, we assure the Government and people of New Zealand of our unwavering solidarity and readiness to provide any assistance."

Shortly thereafter, National Security Adviser John Bolton came out to reporters. “We are, of course, extremely alarmed by this hate crime in New Zealand, which looks like a terrorist attack,” he said. “We have been in touch with our embassy all night. We continue to receive details. The situation is being monitored by the State Department and other agencies. "We are very concerned. We are ready to cooperate with the New Zealand authorities in whatever way we can."

Meanwhile, other prominent American politicians responded to the events in New Zealand. In particular, Republican Senator Marco Rubio tweeted: "The attack on Muslim worshipers in Christchurch, New Zealand is a definite evil. Violent extremism of any kind must be condemned, rejected and crushed" .

Council on American-Islamic Relations public organization called a press conference at which its executive director Nihad Awad addressed directly to the President:

- The perpetrator of this attack was inspired by the instigators of hatred in the United States and Europe. The perpetrator of this horrific terrorist attack mentioned President Trump in his manifesto today. And I would like to address Mr. Trump. Mr Trump, your words matter. Your politics matter. These words and these policies affect the lives of innocent people here and all over the world. And you must condemn these actions not only as a hate crime, but as a terrorist attack by a white supremacist. You must reassure all of us - Muslims, African Americans, Jews, immigrants - that we are protected and that you will not tolerate any physical abuse against us because we are immigrants or minorities.

After this appeal, the journalists managed to talk to the senior adviser to the President Kellyan Conway . By this time, she must have skimmed through Tarrant's manifesto. She was asked, "Does it bother you if the suspect refers to the president in a favorable way?" She replied that the author of the manifesto was "wrong": "I think you should state the entire manifesto in its entirety, and not catch individual phrases in it ... He says that he is guided by China, that he is not a conservative. He is not a Nazi. He is an eco-terrorist "He's a bitter, hateful individual who shouldn't have been given a platform to speak out."

Indeed, Tarrant claims that he is not a Nazi - on the grounds that he does not hate other ethnic groups as such. Let each of them live on his own territory, and not invade the territory of the whites. He likes China precisely because of its monoculturalism - in contrast to the multiculturalism of Europe. Tarrant considers the leader of the British fascists of the Second World War, Oswald Mosley, as his teacher, and calls himself an "ethno-nationalist" and "eco-fascist". This is not at all what an eco-terrorist, that is, a conservationist who acts by violent methods. This is precisely a kind of neo-Nazism.

At the site of the attack

And is it really so fundamentally important what Tarrant calls himself? His main "idea", reflected in the title of his manifesto, is the Great Replacement. This is the name of the conspiracy theory formulated by the French writer Renaud Camus. He argues that the European elite has adopted and is implementing a secret plan to replace its own declining population with highly fertile Third World migrants. As evidence, a report on replacement migration, presented by experts from the UN Population Division in 2000, is usually cited. In fact, the report is hypothetical in nature, and there is a question mark in its title.

It is likely that Brenton Tarrant sincerely does not consider himself an Islamophobe. For example, he visited Pakistan and was very pleased with the honesty, cordiality and hospitality of the Pakistanis. But it just so happens that Muslims form the basis of the migration flow to Europe. The London Daily Mail photographed and analyzed in detail the multilingual inscriptions on his weapons and machine gun magazines. This, one might say, is an encyclopedia of the centuries-old opposition to Muslims in Europe. Scientists are still a long way from printing a living organ, but Lewis's team's ability to print complex tissue with healthy vascular systems is a vital step in the process.

Ultimately, the medical community hopes that printed biological tissues will speed up drug testing (which can now take decades) and enable the replacement of damaged organs.

"With the ability to directly print functional tissue, you can have a much more thorough approach to pharmaceutical drug screening as well as tissue engineering," Lewis told C&EN.


Scientists at Princeton University have printed an ear made from electronic components and biological tissue, while their colleagues at Cambridge University have printed retinal cells. The researchers hope that these technologies will eventually lead to a breakthrough in medicine.

So is Boston Dynamics' Spot, a 160-pound four-legged robot that looks like a dog. However, he will not doze off side by side and will not ask you to scratch his stomach.

Instead, Spot robots can be used in search and rescue or disaster relief thanks to their hydraulic legs, head and self-correcting balance sensors, allowing them to recover from missteps and overcome obstacles.

Old designs of wheeled robots couldn't move over uneven ground, so it's even more interesting to see how Spot performs on flat ground and hilly terrain and recovers quickly from some good-natured kicks from the board monitors.

In the future, it's not hard to imagine robots like Spot finding lost hikers on difficult trails or helping to dispose of hazardous materials.

What if relatively inexpensive balloons could provide Internet access to more people living in remote areas?

This is a project that Google engineers have been working on since 2012, when the company launched technology-equipped test balloons over California.

Since then, more advanced balls have been developed that have crossed the world. Loon balloons are cheaper to manufacture and operate than satellite systems.

To potentially give billions of people access to the Internet, Google has developed a fleet of balloons with solar-powered electronics inside.


Each balloon covers 40 km and is able to pick up an Internet signal from the ground and transmit it to remote users

Flying 20 kilometers above the stratosphere, much higher than the flight altitude of commercial aircraft, Loon balloons connect via radio networks to existing telecommunications networks to provide high-speed Internet (provides stable communication up to 40 km away) to devices that may be out of signal range.

Google has created algorithms to figure out where to place its balloons in the stratosphere so they can be propelled by the wind. Engineers can track aircraft using GPS.

Loon balls have already been used by major telecom providers in Brazil, New Zealand and Australia.

While the first hot air balloons only stayed in the sky for a few days, today they are able to fly for more than 100 days and can circumnavigate the globe.

Instead, they tend to be ingenious solutions to vexing problems: improved designs for longer condom use times, for example; pre-vaccinated cows that smell like humans to attract mosquitoes; remote monitoring to prevent spoilage of the vaccine.
