You can 3D print a steering wheel for your Xbox One, but you probably shouldn't
One of my favorite places on the internet is a site called Thingiverse. You can spend hours there looking for amazing things to print, and sometimes you find something that strikes the imagination, such as this little trifle from user pixel2. This is a very simple yet elegantly designed steering wheel with stand and pin to fit your Xbox One controller.
I'll walk you through a little step by step on how to print and put it together so you can see how easy it is, but before we go any further, let me say a word of warning. This steering wheel is a fun idea that is incredibly well thought out and designed, but it won't win you many competitions or make you better at racing games. It's a fun thing to show off to your friends, but it blocks too many buttons to be really useful, and it can waste your controller if you're not careful.
Anyway, let's have some fun.
3D print
Once you have downloaded the STL from Thingiverse you can load them into your favorite slicer, I used Simplify 3D and you should print them in the orientation they are in. This means using enough props in the main clip, but trust me, it's worth it to get the right strength for the details.
Pixel2 recommends using sixteen walls, no top or bottom layers, and zero infill percentage, an unusual approach but it seems to work well for increasing strength and durability. If you are using a 0.4mm nozzle, as most people do, print it at a layer height of 0.2mm for best results. I used these exact settings and other than the loss of support, the print looks great. I used AmazonBasics translucent red to print it because red makes you move faster, just ask a Ferrari.

Assembly
The assembly itself was very easy once I figured out the correct order for placing the pieces.
You will need to find a 22mm skateboard bearing to match the 3D printed parts you made, they are the same as you find in those spinning machines that have been a fad for about an hour so you might break one of these. to get it. After that, make sure you put the bearing into the clamp first and not into the wheel. I did it the first time and then I couldn't fit the wheel.
As shown in the Gif, you need to put the clip on first, if you are thinking of keeping it on for some time, maybe buy some extra fine back padding felt so it doesn't scratch your controller. Once this is resolved, you can quickly complete the bearing installation and then attach the pin to the controller cover. Once you're done, attach the cover to the controller's joystick, put the wheel back in place, and you're ready to race!
Final thoughts
It's very cool, it's true. Someone solved a problem we never knew and we did great, but do you really want to take advantage of it? probably no.
