I keep complaining about the first 3d printer and its upgrades.
Actually, we will talk about belts, their fastenings and tensioners. I’ll have to climb forward, because now I’ve switched to “mounts without fasteners” on the X axis, but I haven’t written about the X-axis carriage yet ... and rollers from two bearings...
But in order...
Belts
In short, in stock they are shit.
The printer comes with cheap, extremely stiff, steel-corded plastic belts. At first they work fine, but the mechanisms of their fastening, the complexity of the tension and the availability of normal belts did their job - I bought the correct 2GT belts with glass cord on eBay.
It turned out to be easier to work with them - they stretch well and clearly, they work well with any pulleys (even from bearings). In general, in my opinion, the upgrade is very justified. nine0005
The only catch is that they are thinner, which means that some of the printed retainers designed for stock belts are not very suitable. To seal the fastening, you can insert a piece of a piece of supports remaining after printing.
Mounts
This, in stock, pain and sadness. On the x-axis, it's just a matter of wrapping the belt around the bolt and securing it with a zip tie. First of all, they were replaced with clamps with a kind of tensioner - Anet A8 simple X-belt Holder GT2 2mm .
Subsequently, he replaced the carriage as a whole, and the belt mounts are immediately part of the carriage, and the tensioners are separate. nine0005
Y-axis Y Belt Clamp for Anet A8 was printed and installed.
Tensioners
Just a must. On the Y axis, excellent development Anet A6 A8 upgrade Y-Belt tensioner . Attention: print strictly from ABS. Works very well and easy to adjust.
There are a lot of options along the X axis, I now have a tensioner from the kit Anet A8 X-Carriage Mounts . Nothing special, from the shortcomings - ordinary screws, without lamb, uncomfortable. I plan to print heads for them. nine0005
The beauty of such a tensioner is that a pulley for 2GT belts is placed in it, that is, a corrugated one. About pulleys, I, perhaps, will tell separately.
Pulleys
Spinning a toothed belt around a pair of flanged bearings is another solution. It works (especially with a normal padded belt), but still the perfectionist inside me suffers.
