Build Quality
Build to last, the UP Mini 2 is manufactured with a sturdy metal frame and an attractive glossy plastic case. The enclosed design of the UP Mini 2 helps to maintain a hot printing environment, important for printing performance materials such as ABS and PC (PolyCarbonate) and helps prevent curious hands from touching the printer during operation. Opening the front door during printing will pause the print, a great feature for education.
Perforated or Smooth Printing Board
For many users buying their first 3D Printer, bed adhesion is a common issue faced by new users. The UP Box+ is shipped with both Smooth and Perforated printing boards. Smooth boards are optimal when printing lower temperature materials with improved bottom layer aethsetics. The perforated board ensures excellent adhesion with a raft when printing high temperature materials like ABS and PC.
Plug & Play
Designed with user experience in mind, the UP Mini 2 is controlled by Tiertimes smart UP Studio software which simplifies the 3D Printing experience so you only need to choose the most important settings such as material temperature, bed temperature, layer height resolution and infil.
Connectivity
Users have the ability to connect to their UP Mini 2 via WIFI or USB. Unlike some other 3D Printers on the market, when sending prints to the UP Mini 2 via USB, you can safelty disconnect your computer after the print job has been sent thanks to the printers internal SD card.
Other Features

What safety features does the UP Mini 2 have?
The enclosed design of the UP Mini 2 means that younger children and curious adults can’t touch the hot parts of the machine during printing. The door also has a sensor that pauses your print when opened, a great feature for school environments. The UP Mini 2 also has a HEPA filter which lowers noticeable odors when printing ABS materials. A HEPA filter isn’t necessary for other materials like PLA, PC, Flexible and Wooden filaments as those materials don't have a noticable printing odor.
I read online that I can only use UP Genuine filament on these printers, is this true?
Not at all!
In 2016 Tiertime opened up printer control with their new UP Studio software.
With UP Studio you can control nozzle and bed temperature allowing you to print your own choice of material and filament brand. We personally love using Polymaker materials like PC-Max on these printers!
