You Can Now Get Tiny T-Rex Arms For Your Chickens
For Millenia, the world's top scientists have been trying to figure out how to give chickens hilarious arms that we can all laugh about. But until recently they haven't existed. First there was the human arms for chickens that gave us all a good laugh, then we added huge muscles to these human arms, and now, there are these incredible T-Rex chicken arms. Chickens already look somewhat like dinosaurs, so it only makes sense that we give them arms that turn them into a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
The T-Rex chicken arms are actually a file that you can download to use on your own 3D printer. They're available on the website Thingiverse where they offer free 3D printer files to download. The design of the file makes T-Rex arms that are 3.14 inches wide, but you can scale as needed depending on the size of your chicken.

Though, if you don't have a 3D printer and would like to just purchase a set of T-Rex arms for your chicken, there is another Etsy store that sells the designs from there own 3D printer. The Etsy shop is called CraftyBargainDesigns, and they've already sold a ton of them. The store has said they've stopped taking sales for the holidays, but that will begin taking sales again on January 3rd.

Researchers at Columbia University have created a device that allows you to print and fry chicken at the same time. This is the first such solution - before that, no one had printed and cooked food at the same time.

A team at Columbia University first developed a 3D food printer back in 2007. Then the researchers learned how to create food in layers with millimeter precision and wondered if it was possible to cook it with the same precision.
In the new device, the engineers used a 5-10 watt blue diode laser as the main heating source. But they experimented with lasers in the near- and mid-infrared ranges, as well as with a conventional toast oven. nine0006
For the experiment, the researchers bought a raw chicken breast from a local grocery store and ran it through a food processor to get an even consistency. They removed all the tendons and then froze the samples before packaging them into syringes for 3D printing.
The scientists' apparatus uses a high power diode laser, a set of mirror galvanometers—devices that detect voltage by deflecting light with mirrors, laser shielding, and a removable printed chicken stand.

At first, the laser was placed inside the installation, but as the experiment progressed, it was installed vertically right on the head of the printing mechanism. Thus, the scientists managed to create a solution that prints and cooks ingredients on the same machine.
As a result, the scientists were able to cook a chicken that retained twice as much moisture as the same dish in normal cooking and turned out half as much, retaining the same taste. At the same time, different types of lasers led to different results.
The blue diode proved to be ideal for cooking innards under the skin, and infrared lasers were better for roasting at surface level. At the same time, scientists tried to fry chicken in plastic packaging in this way - it turned out that this was possible, and even traces of the grill appeared on it. nine0006
Millimeter precision allows you to print and cook a burger from rare to well-done. Lasers also allow packaged foods to be baked, extending shelf life and reducing microbial contamination, and have good commercial potential for packaged prepared foods in grocery stores, the scientists said.
