Top 10 3D printed models for the week

Toys and tools, pots and robots - real makers can do everything. We present another weekly selection of 3D-printed works:
10. Ring
Jewelry craft from Rastishka 3D Print. The model was made on a B9Creator photopolymer 3D printer and used to create a mold on which the finished silver ring was cast.
9. Pots for plants
DDD 3D printing studio from Miass printed transparent pots from Watson filament produced by Bestfilament.
As it turns out, transparent pots help monitor soil moisture and root health - just what you need to grow picky orchids.
8. Mold
Concrete mold made by Joonek. The mold needed to be made in no more than two weeks on a modest budget, and therefore it was decided to opt for a 3D printed version. Printing was carried out on PICASO 3D printers.
7. Legs
One of the works presented at the competition "Summer at Zenith". Maputo's BQ PrintBot Evolution upgrade is printed in ABS, PLA and SBS on a Prusa i3 3D printer. Printable files are available at this link.
6. Tackle container
Work by 3Dtoday member Fin. This handy fishing tackle box was designed and printed at the request of my father-in-law. The maker did not pursue high quality due to lack of time, but the practicality of the product is obvious. The box is made of REC ABS plastic and took eleven hours to print.

5. Box mod
Box mod for electronic cigarettes for the Topbox Mini board and two 18650 batteries. The device was developed and printed by the 3DPLab studio from Rostov-on-Don. The covers of the battery and electronic compartments are attached with magnets.
4. Figurine
Driver figurine printed and painted by Forms 3D. The model was printed on a Hercules Strong 3D printer from Cyberfiber PLA plastic. Post-processing included sanding, priming and acrylic painting. Details here.
3. End caps
REC has designed and printed cute end caps for rims. Products are made of branded ABS plastic on a PICASO 3D Designer 3D printer. More examples of work can be found here.
2. PipBoy
The best friend of the inhabitants of the post-apocalyptic world is the PipBoy wrist microcomputer.
Model made by Georgy Pugachev, a.k.a. Heorhi.
The original design had to be slightly modified to fit the size of the smartphone, and light bulbs with switches were added at the same time. How it's done, read here.

And finally, an old pistol printed by Mikhail Tikhonyuk. After printing and assembly, the model was covered with putty, sanded, primed and painted with acrylic. Details on the author's blog.

Wotofo RECURVE Squonk Mod | BelVaping
In this review, I will talk about the "almost mechanical" box mod Recurve , designed to work with squonk drips from the company WOTOFO .
Attention: Everything written below is my personal opinion.

Not so long ago, I told you about a rather interesting and tasty RDA from the company WOTOFO and the well-known reviewer Mike Vapes - RECURVE RDA . The company and the nugget engineer did not stop cooperation after the release of the first device and after a short time presented a new joint creation - a squonk mod with the same name RECURVE . As it becomes clear from the name, these two devices are simply designed for each other, and whether this is so and whether it turned out, see for yourself.

Packaging RECURVE Squonk Mod
The company Wotofo completely and irrevocably (for some time) changed the packaging design, now all products are sold in nice boxes dominated by black and green, it looks very nice and modern. Special for Mike Vapes the green parts of the package, with a bit of observation, add up to the inscription RECURVE , and especially for you, through a huge viewing window, you can determine the color of the device and its appearance without opening the package.
Almost all useful and not so useful information is located on the side faces: delivery content, warnings, manufacturer's address, logos, certificates, warnings and prohibitions, as well as stickers with device color, product barcode and authentication.
What's in the box
The delivery set is not the richest, it contains the minimum necessary for using the mod: the mod itself, a charging cable, instructions in several languages and two adapters for batteries with a diameter of 18 (black) and 20 (transparent) millimeters. Of course, I would like to see another squonk bottle or drip tip in the box in the color of the device, but what is not there is not.
RECURVE Squonk Mod. Construction
Appearance Recurve Mod , with all the desire, can not be called boring or hackneyed. Compared to most squonks, which are 3D printed square boxes of various types, the Recurve is the culmination of a lot of design research. Judging externally, it looks like a whole harmoniously composed of four curved parts. Tactile (i.e. to the touch) coatings are matte, and the black parts even with a soft-touch effect, it is a pleasure to hold this in your hands. A well-thought-out ergonomic shape adds to the pleasant sensations, the mod fits in the palm of your hand “like a glove” and pleases with a decent weight, all components are made of zinc alloy.

In any color option, the top and detachable covers will always be black with a soft touch finish.
The side parts of the mod, apart from the design and curves, are unremarkable, except for the charging socket located at the top. This position of the hole is not the most convenient for regular use, but in the absence of a normal charger at hand, it will come in handy.
On the front end of the device there is a single button responsible for turning the mod on/off by pressing it five times, and for supplying current to the connector. The button travel is small, about half a millimeter, very clear, accompanied by a quiet click. Despite the large size (25 * 18 mm), the button, but rather the "trigger", is confidently pressed both in the center and at the very edges. Under the button there is an oval hole through which you have to press the bottle to supply liquid, and LED indicators are also located there.
In the upper part, the engineers put a steel 510 connector with a spring-loaded copper squonk pin and a ring slightly protruding above the plane of the mod, which will protect the coating from scratches when winding the RDA. Logos, the name and a couple of obligatory signs are applied on the bottom side. There are also four barely visible legs that save the surface from scratches.
The battery cover is held in place by three magnets (two on the sides at the top and one at the bottom in the center), and due to the curved shape of the docking surfaces, there is no play, wobble or rattling when closed.
At the bottom and top of the battery compartment there are two contacts, additionally signed with "+" on top and "-" on the bottom. Both contacts are spring-loaded, the stroke of the positive is about 4 mm, and the negative is about 1 mm.
Which side to install the adapter for the 18650 battery - there is not much difference, I will only note that it is better to take black, because.
inside the transparent one, your battery will rattle against the walls during a shake.
The lid of the bottle compartment is held only by two magnets on the sides, but thanks to the stop at the bottom and the curvature of the mating surfaces, it also does not stagger or play at all.
Liquid bottle made of soft silicone, with a threaded washer on the neck, into which the cap with a straw is screwed. This design is convenient for use and refilling. In the mod, the bottle is installed with a simple movement from the bottom up, for which it is worth saying thanks to the engineers who made the corresponding slot in the case, which almost all square boxes cannot afford. This simple and almost ingenious solution reduces the problem of accidentally pressing the bottle during installation and, as a result, spilling the liquid, simply to zero. Among what is not included in the kit, in addition to the second bottle, I would very much like to see a second cap without a hole.
So it would be possible to carry with you not just a reserve container, but also filled and quickly change bottles without the risk of leakage.
The liquid supply tube on which the bottle is put on is located under the small cap, it protrudes by 12 millimeters and I have nothing more to say about this knot. A little lower, on the far wall of the bottle compartment, you can see a strip, behind which there are three white indicators / LEDs. They are quite dim and by and large are not needed during the use of the device, but can be useful in all sorts of unforeseen cases: blink 5 times in case of a short circuit, 10 times when the battery is low, constantly burn when overheating or charging, blink for a second if there is no evaporator or after 10 seconds of holding the FIRE button.
However, through a bottle filled with liquid, the light indication is practically invisible, especially in daylight, but this does not apply to special disadvantages, because.
I already wrote above, the indication here was made purely in order to inform the vapers about any problems, and during normal use it is not needed in principle.
