The Great Fredini probably uses his 3D printers more than anyone else in the world, and of course, he's seen more than once that 3D printing can go wrong. And as a result, terrible, strange and often creepy figures come out. But let's leave the Great Fredini trying to find beauty in his failed 3D printed creations. nine0005
Last year, after successfully funding his Kickstarter project, Fred Kahl - the name on The Great Fredini's driver's license - set up his 3D printed portrait studio, The Coney Island Scan-A-Rama, and started selling 3D scans and 3D - printed figurines of visitors to Coney Island.
Fredini uses the open source Scan-O-Tron 3000 scanner to scan his customers as they step onto a giant, self-propelled "Lazy Susan" - a circular platform that slowly rotates in a circle. This simple device allows you to get accurate and highly detailed 3D scans, which are then processed and turned into printed 3D portraits. nine0005

As with any other application of 3D printing, it sometimes happens that at some point something goes wrong and the end result is very different from what you expected. Everyone with 3D printers produces their own 3D zombies sooner or later, but when you specialize in printing 3D portraits for living people, you will probably end up with a pretty decent collection of 3D printed zombies over time.
There are many reasons why printing may not go as planned. This can happen because you forget to turn on the print platform heater, or someone pushes the machine during operation, or some ninja gets inside the machine and shifts your build platform from a perfectly horizontal position, causing it to shift.

Fredini saved the most interesting of his failed 3D printed portraits, called them a zombie army and proudly displays them as works of art, which they are. If you didn't know their true origin, you would probably assume that they are characters from the films "Dawn of the Dead" or "Resident Evil".

Whether it's a mother with a gas mask on her face, tightly grasping the halves of the remains of her children, or a decent-looking gentleman in a bowler hat who apparently met someone with a very sharp sword - Fredini's army of zombies is definitely creepy for impressionable people. nine0005
And, besides, sometimes you get such zombies, looking at the absurdity of which, it is very difficult to even imagine how they could turn out like that at all. They look like an open bag of Ramen noodles, which is scarier than all the other Fredini zombies put together.
