How does FARO Freestyle
3D work?At a distance of 0.5 to 3 meters, the scanner is manually moved along or around the object. At this time, the scanner's projector projects a grid of small infrared dots onto the surface of the object. At the same time, two infrared cameras photograph the infrared grid of points (reflected from the surface). Further, with the help of mathematical triangulation, the 3D coordinates of each point are calculated. At the same time, when scanning, the built-in color camera takes the values of the true colors of the same points. As a result, we get a colored 3D array of points that exactly repeats the geometry of the scanned object. nine0032
The operator can easily scan almost any object in the most difficult conditions by simply pointing the FARO Scanner Freestyle 3D at the surface of the object. Real-time point cloud visualization makes data collection intuitive even for unskilled personnel. FARO Scanner Freestyle 3D is the only industrial grade handheld scanner that has an IP 5X dust and moisture rating and weighs only 980 grams.
