Artec 3D offers Artec Leo 3D scanner with offline data processing

Artec 3D has released a new professional-grade 3D scanner Artec Leo, capable of independently processing data, without connecting to a computer.

Artec Leo captures wide-angle at 80fps with 0.1mm accuracy when scanning at close range. The proprietary optical system consists of a 3D camera and a 2.3 MP under-lens color camera and a vertical cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) backlight that captures objects in bright daylight, including black and shiny surfaces.

One of the main features is the use of the NVIDIA Jetson computing platform and a 256 GB SSD for offline data processing without connecting to a tablet or computer: the user can monitor the transformation of images into a three-dimensional model on the built-in 5.5-inch touch screen. If necessary, the received data can be sent to external devices for post-processing on large screens or teamwork, or uploaded to the cloud. For ease of use, the scanner is equipped with 9- an axial inertial system that combines an accelerometer, a gyroscope and a compass, a built-in battery, an ergonomic handle, a micro-SD card reader and wireless (Wi-Fi) and wired (Ethernet) interfaces.
