Good time everyone! My name is George, I have been doing 3D printing for 4 years now.
I did a lot, faced a lot, but somehow a friend of mine turned to me and asked if I could make him a full-length Spiderman? For some time I “built” and gave him a positive answer, because after weighing all the “pros” and “cons”, I came to the conclusion that it’s real to master.
Then the "TORTURE" for the mind began, namely the choice of material for the figure ... In fact, it was really difficult, I explain why:
1. I had no experience of such work (the customer was notified about this).
2. Not understanding how and what material will behave in this situation, if for example I knew how this or that material will behave in printing “figures” up to 400 mm in size, then here it is 1740 mm and the volume is large, naturally, a complete lack of representation.
3. Psychological burden (sense of colossal responsibility).
In order to somehow “unload” the 3rd point and dot all the “i”, trial copies of coils were bought (I had Sbs-soft, Sbs-pro, Petg) with plastic. The question was between PET-G and SBS, and "what an idiot I am" that I chose SBS - I will explain a little later why. At first glance - SBS-Pro ( FILAMENTARNO ! ) - gave me a little ambiguous impressions, it seems to be hard enough, but at the same time it is printed at much higher speeds than "petj", the density is specific, there is elasticity, but in moderation. Well, I bribed these properties - bribed))) Adhesion - average, tore off everything that was wrong on the table with 3DM glue))))
Shrinkage tighter than 3rd party ABS. I’ll make a reservation right away - the material is NOT shit !!! - you feel it when you hold SMALL items made of it, they are much nicer than ABS and PETj, they are easier to process than PET and a little harder than ABS - the material does not tend to "crumble" - wear resistance - definitely! .
A small print of small test models showed the suitability of the SBS-pro from FILAMENTARNO ! + the promised “stress resistance” from the manufacturer, namely UV resistance (if my memory serves me), resistance to some aggressive environments .- in general, it seemed to me that its properties were enough for my eyes!
Next, the model was drawn according to pre-prepared pictures. Agreed with a friend, everything worked out. The next step was to purchase a box of plastic and start printing.
Unfortunately, I was so carried away by the process that I forgot to take a picture of the printing process itself, so I jump straight to the assembly.
Here he is “Lounged on the couch” Torso: It seems to have been assembled)) The seams were glued together with a 3D pen with the same SBS and a little bit of glue, in places. But by and large they tried to avoid glue, since this business was spilled in places and smeared with Xylol.
Next, after the colossal "post-processing", the stage of painting followed, a temporary "booth" was made for painting with an airbrush. >>>> Filled with liquid putty
>>>>Sanded in places, dofigischa smeared putties, spilled fulcrum with polyester resin to lower the center of gravity.

In general, long before that, I already had experience with materials from FILAMENTARNO ! , and they evoked extremely positive emotions and delight in me, despite the fact that I printed parts on mediocre quality printers, the finished products always satisfied me!
Most of all I liked carbon-filled materials, but that's not about that now ;).
Now regarding the described project: The most interesting thing began half a year after the end of the project. What happened? - It began to crack .., not much, but not pleasantly, at first small cracks, they were processed and cleaned on the go, tinted, at first I thought that it was just that he was shrinking slightly, I did not attach any importance.
I am a sincere person, there is nothing to hide:
But then the guard began ... the model literally began to “bloom”, holes 2-4 mm in size, the layers began to diverge ... This is a nightmare ... and I realized that the project shit, I made a mistake with the material ... This is a fiasco. A hard recession began. I don't know yet what to do with it. But damn shame. In general, everything froze at this stage. Let's think about what to do.
So that there is no sracha to the manufacturer - In the last prescription, I talk about MY MISTAKE in choosing the material , and not about the shortcomings of the company's products FILAMENTARNO !
SBS-pro material is something special, very highly specialized, more suitable for loaded gears, very demanding on printing conditions.
