Good day dear readers!
A little over a year ago, I became the owner of my first Chinese “friend”, who can create unique things right at home, and after that, an active study of 3D printing technology began.
I think many people had this, after literally 1-2 months a friend approached me with the idea to print brackets for side mirrors on Oka's car. Excessive enthusiasm and a desire to make money clouded my inexperienced mind in the field of 3D printing and the creation process was launched. nine0003
There were no problems with the modeling, since there was an original bracket and all the changes that it should undergo were immediately discussed.
Here is the actual bracket that was received as a sample:

The left and right brackets are slightly different in length.

The car was slowly being finalized and improved for a tour of Europe, and just a month ago, it began to be actively exploited and tested before a long trip. This is where the brackets immediately decided to break. Due to inexperience, PLA was used as a print material.
At that moment I remembered the videos from bloggers who tell how new customers come to them with broken parts that were made by other "masters" of 3D printing. In such situations, the main thing is to admit your mistakes and start correcting them.
This time it was already understood that weatherproof materials should be used for outdoors, so Eternal (ASA) from REC was chosen and loaded into Hercules 18.
While the print settings were being adjusted, some changes were made to the model, and after a couple of hours everything went to print.
Both brackets took 35 hours to print, airless printed at 100% coverage with a nozzle temperature of 245°C and a bed temperature of 110°C. nine0003
The problem with printing these brackets was only that the lowest part of it has a small contact area with the table and a very sharp angle. Nothing could be done with a sharp corner, but the contact area turned out to be small due to the fact that excess material was removed from the bottom, to facilitate.
During printing, just this sharp corner began to bend, but since it does not affect anything, it was decided to leave everything unchanged and let it bend there, the part will still be printed and will carry its main function. nine0003
