My son assembled a robot from LEGO Mindstorms to assemble a Rubik's cube. Not fully printed from otvinta3d, but different. He needed a simple part 4538007, and all the copies that were in the set, and at home too, had already been used. You can, of course, replace it with another, almost the same, but you don’t want to. So we were faced with a choice - to buy a donor set or try to print it. It would seem that the choice is obvious, but it was not there. Looking for an hour, looking for another. There are many models of ordinary bricks, for LEGO Technics there are significantly fewer, and there is no such one at all. There are catalogs, but there are no ready-made models. Apparently no one needs it yet. So you need to draw yourself.

How can we speed up the process? So, after all, the part that underlies it has long been modeled and is available. We take it and change it, supplement it, as we need, i.e. making a remix. And the model is based on a script that is written in OpenSCAD. How great is that! Know yourself, write text on the keyboard, and then it will transform itself into a model, almost like magic. Everything would be fine, but it could be even better. What's so great about scripts? Parameters that are set at the start of work. Therefore, we will have not just a detail, but a parametric model. So that everyone can customize it to suit their needs.
