Useful Tools - Models for a 3D Printer
Everyone who has a 3D printer has one weakness: we print all these random things we find on the Internet, we print a lot of these things. Someone has figures of cartoon characters, someone has parts for a printer, someone just prints goodies of all shapes and sizes, and I can print tools that are useful in the household.
You can hardly print better than what is sold in the store, but sometimes I had to look for things that fit the needs better than anything bought.
Most of the time, though, they're fun to print simply because you're curious to see if they work.

1) Solder Wire Holder
I printed and bought quite a few fixtures to hold wires and boards while soldering, but this is my favorite. I'm usually in a hurry, or I just need to make a couple of quick touches with the soldering iron, so this holder of mine fits perfectly.

2) Bevel cutter
I don't do much 3D modeling lately, but I do build radio controlled airplanes, and for small pieces of balsa like a steering wheel, this is a great cutter. It is, in fact, suitable for cutting anything.

4) Resistor Lead Shaping Tool
I work with circuit boards a lot and getting everything to stay in place is always a problem.
This tool saves more time than it took to print it. It greatly simplifies the process.
5) Corner Mount
I printed this out of necessity. I printed 4 of these to hold the box in place while it was drying, and this box now serves as a cover for my printer. I don't know if I will ever use these mounts again.

6) Fully printed PCB clip
This is my absolute favorite printout. I use it almost every time I have to solder something. Works magically. If you're only going to print one instrument, print this one. It has done me more good than almost any other on my desk.

7) Knife sharpener
This is my most recent printout so I can't say yet how well it will work. If it works at least half as well as an ordinary grindstone, I will be happy. Sharpening knives is a never-ending process, and I can't tell you how many tools I've tried.
In the end, I always returned to my good old grinding wheel, but to achieve the desired effect on it is not easy even for a specialist. I hope my blades are much sharper now.
